The clock shows 3:10 a.m. here in Barcelona, and we still have nine players in this one-day event. As of right now the event has been going on for almost 15 hours and the end is not in sight yet. Not a single player has their shove seen called in the 20 minutes, but with the blinds at a sky-high level it can never be long before the next all-in showdown.
Action folded to Mark Teltscher on the button and he shoved all in for half an ante more than ten big blinds. His 1,210,000 shove made Jani Sointula in the small blind fold instantly. Isaac Haxton in the big blind needed some more time but eventually called.
Isaac Haxton:
Mark Teltscher:
The flop () and turn () were good for Haxton, but the on the river helped Teltscher to double up. Still nine players.
Mark Teltscher raised to 240,000 and the action folded to Kevin Stani who moved all in for 280,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Teltscher made the call.
Action folded to Kevin Stani and he shoved all in for 900,000 exactly. Jeff Rossiter in the big blind made the call.
Kevin Stani:
Jeff Rossiter:
The board ran out and the counting started. It turned out Jeff Rossiter had just slightly more, and the first casualty at the last table was there. The remaining eight players are guaranteed €108,400.
Mike McDonald raised to 240,000 and Iacopo Brandi moved all in for a little over 800,000, and when the action got back to the Canadian pro he made the call.
McDonald:
Brandi:
The board ran out and Brandi hit the rail in eighth place.
In the most recent break a whole bunch of green 100,000 denomination chips were introduced to the tournament. This has made it a lot easier to gage players' stacks, but the action has still been rather quiet at the table with 20 minutes left in the current level.
Action folded around to Martin Finger on the button who inquired how much Jeff Rossiter was playing behind. Rossiter informed his neighbor he had 1,680,000 behind and Finger folded. Rossiter glanced at his cards and almost instantly announce all in. Mark Teltscher in the big blind thought about it for a bit and then made the call.
Jeff Rossiter:
Mark Teltscher:
The board ran out and Rossiter got up and shook hands with Teltscher.
Rossiter collects €108,400 for his efforts, the remaining 6 players are guaranteed €199,200.
