Nuts and Nuts

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On a {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop Portuguese player Antonio Palma had checked to Jonathan Duhamel who bet 1,200. Timothy Adams made the call, but now that action was back on Palma he showed he had more aggressive plans. Palma raised it up to 4,000 and Duhamel called after some thinking. This lured in Adams who called as well.

The {3-Spades} on the turn made Palma toss in two 5,000 chips. Duhamel wasn't about to call that 10,000 bet, he moved in for slightly less than 2.5 times that amount. Adams folded and Palma immediately called.

The excitement was soon over though as both showed the nuts with no redraw. Duhamel had [AhJs} while Palma had {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The river {Q-Clubs} made Adams shake his head a little bit, that queen probably would have helped him but wouldn't prevent Palma and Duhamel from chopping up the pot.

Krieger Falls

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It had been a frustrating couple of levels for PokerStars Sponsored player from Germany Andre Krieger; he just couldn’t seem to get anything going. We arrived at the table to see a final board of {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and his opponent was all in. It would cost Krieger all his chips to make the call, but call he did. His opponent had {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Krieger turned over his {10-}{10-} before making his exit.

Austria's All-Time Money Winner Looking for More

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Josef Klinger
Josef Klinger

Do you know who tops the Austria all-time money list? It's not Niki Jedlicka, who is currently 10th on the list with $652,890 in live lifetime earnings (though that'll go up when he and Eugene Katchalov finished their heads-up battle in the Eureka High Roller tomorrow); nor is it Thomas Muhlocker, who sits fourth with $1,121,159.

The man who actually tops the list is Josef "Pepe" Klinger, who has $1,759,013 in lifetime earnings.

The vast majority of that, $1,331,274 to be exact, came courtesy of his runner-up finish to Nicolas Chouity in the EPT6 Grand Final. However, he's also notched some other impressive scores including second in the €3,000 Vienna Spring Poker Festival for $129,219; a win in the 2003 Vienna Spring Festival €2,000 NLHE for $86,105; first in the 1999 Vienna Spring Festival for $80,013; and a victory in the 2004 Austrian Classics €1,000 No Limit Hold'em for $27,996.

Klinger is looking to add even more to his résumé, though he faces an uphill battle as he is sitting with just 11,700.
