Lodden's Day Comes to an End

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Johnny Lodden
Johnny Lodden

Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden got it all in preflop against Thomas Miller. They both had very similar stack sizes of about 70,000. Lodden had {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and was just ahead of the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} holding of Miller.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} with the turn delivering Miller’s straight. Lodden wasn’t sure if he had any chips left but he did with 10,000 chips now in front of him. “I’ve seen you do a lot more with a lot less.” another player commented. Lodden was in the small blind the next hand but he folded to a raise from Miller again.

On the next hand Miller opened again for 10,000 and when Pedro Pellicer called in the cutoff, Lodden shipped it in from the button. The blinds folded and the flop was dealt.

{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Miller made it 14,000 and Pellicer folded. Cards on their backs and Miller had {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} against the {j-Spades}{10-Hearts} of Lodden.

The turn {j-Hearts} gave Lodden his card and the river was a safe {q-Clubs}.

“Give me the money. Here we go.” Lodden could feel another run coming on.

It was folded to Lodden the next hand and all in it went again from the cutoff. The small blind, Matas Cimbolas re-shoved for over 100k and although the big blind looked interested he let his hand go.

“You have a pair?” asked Lodden? Indeed Cimbolas did with {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Lodden fancied his chances with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

The final board read {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Lodden could not catch a king to stay alive.

“GG,” Lodden told the table as he took his leave.

Bilokur And Riehl Lose Ground

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

First we saw Alex Bilokur call 45,000 in a three way pot on the {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} turn against Andrea Benelli and Andrey Lobzhanidze. All three players then checked the {Q-Clubs} river and Lobzhanidze took down the pot with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. One hand later Bilokur was all in for 64,500 with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and walked away in disgust when he got called by the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Xia Lin.

After the {6-Spades}{A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} turn, Lobzhanidze called him back with the good news and Bilokur took his seat again after the {7-Diamonds} river coompleted the board. He is still down considerably for the day.

Ludovic Riehl is crippled after a hand with Pawel Brzeski. After a pre flop raise, both players checked the {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} flop. On the {5-Diamonds} turn, Riehl fired 23,500 and was called. The {10-Diamonds} river triggered another bet worth 45,500 from the Frenchman with 45,000 behind and Brzeski with about the same stack size moved all in. Riehl folded.

[Removed:17] Eliminated

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We have lost the Day 1b chip leader. [Removed:17], also known online as "MissOracle," has been eliminated in the last hand before the break. Preflop, he raised to 10,000 and Andreas Goeller defended his big blind.

On the {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{A-Spades} flop, Goeller checked and Yan bet 12,000. Goeller check-raised to 40,000 and Yan reluctantly called. After the {Q-Hearts} turn, Goeller asked his opponent how much he had left behind before moving all in. Yan still had 127,000 and was left with a difficult decision.

"You liked the turn?" he asked. It took several minutes and no decision was in sight. The clock was called and 20 seconds before the end of the one minute, Yan put a pile of blue chips in the middle and called.

Yan: {A-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Goeller: {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {10-Diamonds} river completed the board and "MissOracle" could not improve.

Coren Doubles

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Right before the break we witnessed Vicky Coren's double up.

On a {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop she was all in for 77,500. Her opponent, Ariel Celestino, made the call after he already had invested 15,000.

Coren showed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for the nuts. Celestino tabled {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} and needed to improve to knock the Team PokerStars Pro out.

The {4-Diamonds} on the turn and {2-Diamonds} on the river were no threat to Coren who doubled to Just under 200,000.

Three Shoves, Only One Call

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We joined the action on the {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Clubs} flop and Tom Alner check-called a bet of 13,000 out of the big blind. Alessio Sardone and the Brit checked the {10-Hearts} turn before Alner bet 27,000 on the {5-Clubs} river. Sardone moved all in for 76,000 and got no call from the Brit.

Igor Nekazakov moved all in from the cutoff for 55,000 and was called one seat over by Andreas Goeller. All other players folded and Nekazakov won the coin flip with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} against the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} of Goeller. The {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board gave him the nut flush.

Then we also saw an open raise from Xia Lin, the three-bet of Andrey Lobzhanidze for 27,000 and the flat call from Andrea Benelli. Lin moved all in and flashed the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} after both opponents threw their cards into the muck.
