Griffin Benger had mistakenly thought he was in the big blind and had put out 400. Three players had folded when they realised something had gone wrong and the floor was called to adjudicate.
The floor explained that because there had been “substantial action.” i.e three players folding, it would be ruled a call and the action would now be on Philipp Gruissem. Benger explained that he hadn’t even looked at his cards.
Being poker players they all had an opinion on the matter, but in the end the ruling stood and it was accepted. Benger’s chips would stay out there as a call.
Gruissem raised it to 1,200 from the button and Sam Trickett made the call in the small blind. Antoine Saout folded the big blind and now Benger looked at his cards.
Benger made it 4,500 to go. Gruissem folded and Trickett laughed “That’s such a weird spot. I don’t want to stack off.” He folded his and Benger showed the table . “I had to.” he explained.
Artem Litvinov had just seemingly talked Max Silver into calling his river bet on a board showing and turned over for the rivered straight.
Silver then opened the next pot for 1,000 and was called by Aleksandr Denisov and Litvinov in the big blind. The flop was and when Litvinov checked Silver bet 2,500 and just Denisov stuck around to see the turn card . Silver bet again for 2,200, Denisov called.
The river was the and Silver thought for a while before checking and showing the . He was beaten by the of Denisov.

Antoine Saout opened the hijack foor 800 and with Benger made it 2,125 from the cutoff. Erik Seidel in the small blind cold called, and Saout added some chips as well to see a flop.
Seidel and Saout checked to Benger on rainbow. Benger followed up on his pre flop aggression by betting 3,100. Seidel made it 6,500 and Saout folded. Benger called with the nuts and called another 5,700 on the off suit that turned. The river was the and Seidel bet out 15,000.
Benger thought about it for about 45 seconds and then moved all in for 13,000 more. Seidel sighed and called reluctantly with for the lower set. Seidel was eliminated, got up from the table and made his way to the registration desk to reenter.

Players tend to not show their cards when they fold. Sometimes though, things are a bit more relaxed and they do.
Just now we saw Alex Bilokur open for 1,100 in the hijack. Gruissem made the call from the cutoff and Sam Trickett squeezed to 3,700 from the button. After both blinds folded, Bilokur four-bet to 8,100 and Gruissem instantly folded. Trickett did the same after some thinking, tabling and laughing about it. "I was gonna hit that flop" Trickett said with a big smile to Bilokur and the dealer.
Two tables down we saw Johnny Lodden raise it up to a 1,000 under the gun. Talal Shakerchi made the call in the hijack and Steve O'Dwyer came along from the big blind. O'Dwyer and Lodden checked to Shakerchi on and he bet 2,000. O'Dwyer folded and so did Lodden, showing . Shakerchi tabled and they were on to the next hand.
It's a friendly game of poker here, like a home game but than with a buy in of €25,000.

Scott Seiver checked it over to Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov on the turn of a board reading and Katchalov bet 10,000. Seiver made the call and the river card fell the .
Check from Seiver and Katchalov moved all in for around 40,000.
Seiver jolted back, disgusted to be put in such a spot by his opponent. It would be a substantial portion of Seiver’s stack if he called and lost. He blew out his cheeks and folded.
Dan Cates at the other end of the table called over to him, “Eugene, what’s the secret?”
“You tell me.” Katchalov replied.

Daniel Negreanu was in the big blind looking at a board of . He checked and his opponent, Thomas Muhlocker, bet 4,400. Negreanu made the call.
The river was the and Negreanu again checked. Muhlocker now bet 8,500, much to the disappointment of Negreanu.
“Wahhh. I wish you wouldn’t do that. I have good cards, but I can only beat a bluff.” Nevertheless he made the call and was behind Muhlocker’s with his .
