Zsolt Szabo and Matej Macejak Share Chip Lead on Day 1d

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Zsolt Szabo
Zsolt Szabo

The first part of the EAPT Bratislava Main Event is now over at Banco Casino. During the last three days, a total of 389 entrants were recorded in the five flights. However, only 59 players managed to qualify for Day 2.

On Day 1d, 23 players out of a field of managed 156 entrants reached the money. Zsolt Szabo and Matej Macejak both ended the day in the lead, with Szabo slightly ahead (614,000), but Macejak follows less than a blind behind (608,000). Way further, Maksym Sheingart takes the third place of the day with 550,000 chips, while Boris Progner finishes fourth (483,000).

Maria Angelaki (306,000) and Michal Janczarski (268,500) reached the money and will be back on Day 2. The same goes for Michel Molenaar (194,500), who finally found a bag after being eliminated in the last minutes of Day 1b. Chip leader at some point during the day, Kestutis Gecevicius ended the day below average (170,000). However, his stack is not as low as Sinisa Civric (98,000) and Christoforos Chrysochoidis (95,000), who hold the shortest stacks of Day 1d.

Finally, Day 1e ended very late with 11 players remaining out of a field of 71 players. On one hand, thanks to this last flight, Hungary's Miklos Zsuffa bagged the overall chip lead with 883,000 chips. On the other hand, Roy Even finished the day with only 2,000 chips (one-tenth of a blind when the bubble burst). I'll be back on Day 2 with a single blind.

The remaining players of the Main Event will gather tomorrow, Saturday, January 27, at noon local time for Day 2. They all secured the min cash (the payouts will be announced at the beginning of the day) and can now dream of the first places, even the short-stacks.

Good news for them: Day 2 will start on the lowest level played on a flight (Day 1c), which is Level 10 (blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 big blind ante). A true breath of fresh air for all the players, most of whom played at least sixteen levels on their Day 1.

Stay tuned as PokerNews provides all the live updates throughout the tournament.
