Boeree Flops a Set

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree and Amir Minagar took a flop of {10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Spades} at the start of Level 7. Boeree led out for 2,200, Minagar called, and the turn was the {7-Clubs}.

Boeree slowed down, rapping the felt, and Minagar took the opportunity to flip forward a yellow T5,000 chip. Boeree made the call.

The Brit checked again once the {j-Hearts} completed the board, and Minagar surrendered, tabling {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for ace-high. Boeree showed {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a flopped set of eights, and raked it the pot.

Motown Kurganov

Igor Kurganov open-shoved for 8,400 - a little more than a pot-sized bet - on a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. His opponent went into the tank, and about 90 seconds later he made the call.

Kurganov showed the {5-Clubs} for a pair of fives, and his opponent slowly revealed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for top-pair top-kicker. The German revealed his second card, the {j-Clubs}, and it was a very important one as the {j-Spades} turned to give him jacks and fives.

The {4-Clubs} bricked off on the river, and Kurganov doubled to 22,000 chips.

"I Flopped Quads"

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

After a player in the hijack opened for 1,600 and Guillaume Rivet flatted from the small blind, the big blind opted for a three-bet to 4,700. The original raiser called, and then the ever-aggressive Rivet thought for about 25 seconds before putting in a four-bet to 12,500.

The big blind seemed a bit put off by the move and began chatting up Rivet despite there being action behind him.

"Is this the hand we get it all in?" the big blind asked. Rivet remained silent. After more than a minute of talking to himself, the big blind put in enough to make the call. After the hijack got out of the way, it was heads-up action to the {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. Rivet was first to act and wasted little time in betting 11,400, which inspired the big blind to quickly chuck his cards to the dealer.

"I flopped quads," Rivet whispered before sending his cards to the muck facedown.

"Show a card one time," said the big blind, who was clearly a nonbeliever.

Glazier Doubles; Rivet Records a KO

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Jackie Glazier doubles
Jackie Glazier doubles

Aussie Jackie Glazier was all in and at risk preflop holding {a-}{q-} against an opponent with {5-}{5-}. The {j-}{j-}{10-} flop gave Glazier four extra outs to make broadway and three extra outs to counterfeit the small pair. The turn was a brick, leaving Glazier one card away from elimination, but fortunately for her a {q-} completed the board.

The very next hand the player with {5-}{5-} was eliminated by Guillaume Rivet. Rivet's {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} dominated the player's {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and the board came {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

Plenty of Action Over at Table 50

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Table 50 is tucked away in the back of the room underneath the big screen, which is a shame considering all the action that's taken place there here in Level 7. First, 2007 World Series of Poker third-place finisher Raymond Rahme was eliminated from the table, and then Antonio Fazzolari, who is sitting on a massive stack, was moved over there.

Not long after, we happened upon a pot with around 30,000 in the middle and a flop of {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. The small blind fired 14,000 and Lily Kiletto looked him up from the button. After the dealer burned and turned the {8-Spades}, the small blind bet 22,000 and left himself 10,000 or so behind.

Kiletto hit the tank for nearly four minutes agonizing over what to do. "I know I should lay this down," she said. Still, she thought for another minute. Eventually she found the strength to follow her gut and she conceded the hand. The small blind sent his cards to the dealer unseen.

Boeree Knocked Back

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree raised to 1,300 from early position, and her only customer was the player in the big blind. The flop fell {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and the big blind bet 1,600. Boeree called.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and the big blind bet 2,000. Boeree called again.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds}, and the big blind checked. Boeree checked behind.

The big blind showed the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for two pair, kings and jacks, and Boeree mucked her hand.
