When we came to Claudia Yum's table, she was involved in a hand against Raymon Wu and one other opponent with a flop showing . Wu was first to act and he checked before the other player flicked out 525. Yum then made it an extra 2,300 to go and Wu got out of the before it was back on Yum's opponent. A few moments thought and Yum's opponent had clicked it back another 2,700.
Yum's opponent only had 5,000 behind and as such, Yum tumbled in enough chips to put him all in. A quick call was made by the player and the two turned their hands over.
Yum:
Opponent:
Yum would need a king or the board to pair up anything but a ten or eight to win. The on the turn was no help and the changed nothing as Yum took the big hit to her stack, while her opponent is looking healthy.

The early chip lead goes to Finland's Mikko Turtiainen. We recently caught Turtianen in a hand with Tam Truong. We didn't manage to get all the preflop betting amounts, but Turtiainen was in the cut-off seat and Truon on the button when both players committed over 2,500 in chip each.
Flop:
On the flop, Turtiainen led out for 2,700 and Truong then popped it to 5,700. Turtiainen quickly made it another 5,000 to go and Truong got out of his seat to check his opponent's stack. Eventually Truong opted to fold, with Turtiainen having him well covered.
With that, Turtiainen took down a handy little pot and easily sits behind the largest stack in the room.

Claudia Yum, well known in Asian poker circles, opened the action pre-flop from under the gun with a raise to 500. She was called by the next player to act, Bjorn Wiesler. Action passed to Antonio Metaxiotis, who bumped the price of poker to 1,700. Both original players called.
The three-way flop of checked to Metaxiotis. He bet just more than half the pot, 3,025. Yum quickly folded by Wiesler stuck around for another card, the turn . Wiesler checked again, and this time a bet of 6,000 chased Wiesler out of the hand for good.
Readers may recognize the name Stewart Ballard from his 4th place finish at ANZPT Sydney. He'll be looking for a similiar result here in Cebu, but if early indications are correct, it won't be that easy.
We came to Ballard's table with a board showing and Ballard in the hand against one opponent. At this point there was almost 5,000 in the pot and Ballard opted to check. His opponent flicked out a bet of 3,000 and it was back on Ballard. After studying his opponent, Ballard decided to make the call.
When Ballard's opponent turned over for a rivered straight, Ballard would shake his head and let out a deep sigh as he slowly slid his cards towards the dealer.

The action was already at the turn on Aaron Benton's table. With the board showing , Benton's lone opponent, Haifeng Xue, moved in for a single blue (1,000) chips and a whole stack of green (25) chips. It counted down at 1,675 total. Benton tanked for a minute, but folded.
"Show me a king," he pleaded with Xue. "Show me a king!"
Xue shrugged but did not reveal his cards.
The tournament clock is showing that 50 players took their seats in today's field, with 49 of those about to head on the first 10-minute break of the day. See you back here soon!
