Eriksson Knows It's All in The Name

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We joined the action on a board of {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades} with Karl Eriksson betting 3,000 into the pot of around four times that. The player who had the decision was Jose Marin, and he made the call, turning over his {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. but it wasn't nearly strong enough.

Eriksson turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, having flopped a full house with eights over three, appropriate given that it's 888Live. Marin had no idea how thin he was drawing, and after getting off to a good start, the Spaniard has dropped below his rival in the hand in the chipcounts.

Durban Sala Tops Them All

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Five players have been eliminated thus far and among them was also Francois Evard. According to Younesse Oualgasi, Evard busted post flop after a preflop four-bet raising war with Abel Durban Sala and the showdown eventually saw queens run into aces. Evard had turned an open-ended straight draw on top and tried to push out Durban Sala by shoving the river, but the Spaniard called.

Durban Sala picked up further chips in a bigger pot against Sofia Lovgren. With the board showing {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, Lovgren bet 6,000 and Durban Sala eventually called. "Showdown please," the dealer said and Lovgren instead opted to muck, forfeiting the pot.

Saaskilahti Busts to Vico Barba

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Antonio Perez Vico Barba and Lauri Saaskilahti were among the most aggressive players in the Side Events of the festival thus far and the duo was sat next to each other, doomed to create a big pot early on. And wouldn't you know it, that big bang indeed happened and Saaskilahti was the one that left empty-handed.

After a raise and a call, Saaskilahti three-bet and picked up two callers. On a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Saaskilahti faced a check-min-raise by Vico Barba and called as only player to see the {J-Diamonds} turn. Vico Barba bet 9,000 and the Finn shoved for another 6,000 on top. Vico Barba called with the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a flush and Saaskilahti was drawing dead with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}, making the {A-Diamonds} river a formality.

Scott and Cabrera

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Kara Scott made it 375 to play from the hijack position and was called by the player in the cut-off position. Joaquin Cabrera made it 1,750 from the button and only Scott called.

The flop of {6-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Hearts} saw Scott check, and she let the hand go when Cabrera bet 800 pretty quickly. Despite losing that hand, Scott is in control and in profit. She's also looking forward to a huge summer, presenting both the Super High Roller Bowl and of course the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas.

At last night's Welcome Party, Scott told the assembled media and players of 888Poker's desire to 'Take Back The Game' and in doing so, 888's passion for taking as many players as possible to the World Series, not just through qualifiers, but in competitions unrelated to grinding 10 hours. With 250 already qualifying via satellites into the WSOP Main Event action in Vegas, it's sure to be yet another busy year in Sin City not just for the face of the WSOP coverage Kara Scott but 888Live as a poker brand.

Kassouf Back in

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

One table in the cash game area is being used and that features Thierry Gogniat, Max Rotko, Andre Filipe Quelhas and William Kassouf. A three-way flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} with 4,700 in the middle, Gogniat checked and Kassouf bet 4,500. That pushed out both opponents and the Brit claimed the pot.

Sanchez Morito Busts

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Manuel Sanchez Morito had lost most of his stack with pocket kings against the pocket tens of Marco Regonaschi, who spiked a set, and was eliminated soon after. Francois Evard on his second bullet three-bet to 950 and three players called.

On the {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, Sanchez Morito moved all in for his last 1,950 and Jaime Victor Sanchez Morito was the only caller.

Manuel Sanchez Morito: {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Jaime Victor Soler Puig: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {3-Diamonds} turn blanked, but the {A-Spades} river improved Soler Puig to a pair of aces and reduced the stack of Sanchez Morito to zero.

Hall Giving Nothing Away

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Cate Hall, pictured in Fierce Mode during Day 1c
Cate Hall, pictured in Fierce Mode during Day 1c

Opening to 500 pre-flop from early position, Cate Hall got three callers to a {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{A-Spades} flop. That saw all four players check, but on the {3-Hearts} turn, Remy Pierre made it 1,100 from the small blind and Hall called, along with [Removed:247] in the cut-off position.

The river of {3-Spades} saw Pierre check, so Hall bet 5,000. [Removed:250] wanted to chat.

"A big bluff? Or a big bet?"

Hall reacted only to throw an invisible question mark into the air via a solitary raised eyebrow. It's a skill. Both players folded, Hall raked in a timely pot and continues her uptick here on Day 1b. Although the chatty [Removed:250] tried to engage Hall in some hand analysis, Hall only participated to ask how much he would have called, and he said 2,000. Hall banked that information too, and although [Removed:250] is the chip leader at the table, that hand was very satisfactory for the 888Poker player.
