Of all the ways to make 250,000 chips, Rodrigo Serrano may have chosen the absolute hardest route, but somehow, he got there.
Pre-flop, Serrano was in first position and made it 3,500 to go. Antonio Carica Sastre called in the next seat, but when the play was folded round to Liudmila Mitanova, who raised all-in for 75,000. Serrano moved all-in himself for a little more still, but behind him, Sastre called it off!
Liudmila Mitanova:
Rodrigo Serrano:
Antonio Garcia Sastre:
An incredible set of hands, but the drama was only beginning. To gasps from the massed throng on the rail, the flop came , giving a gobsmacked Serrano a miracle set with the case king. The turn was the and the river , meaning Serrano made a miracle full house and victory at the expense of two players.
"This is such a joke!" muttered a disgruntled Sastre as he walked out. Serrano had the ultimate punchline right there.

Peter Jaksland:
After the flop, Jaksland stated "I am out" and already left his chair and grabbed the belongings. The miracle never happened with the turn and river, and Jaksland headed to the rail.

Younesse Oualgasi took back-to-back pots off Roberto Sorzano Torres and bumped his stack to twice the average.
First he bet the river for 11,000 and was called, flashing for two pair. Sorzano Torres mucked the and then faced a raise to 2,500 by Artur Yarovoy. Marco Della Tommasina called and Sorzano Torres raised to 7,000. Oualgasi reraised to 13,500 on the button and just Sorzano Torres called.
On the flop, Sorzano Torres checked and folded to the shove of Oualgasi, who flashed the .
Della Tommasina busted soon after a few minutes into the new level and sat down at a nearby cash game table.

William Kassouf bet 6,000 into a pot of around 10,500 after the board had fallen until the turn.
Benjamin Garcia Rivera was Kassouf's opponent, and he made it 15,000, prompting some words form Kassouf.
"You got very lucky on the turn."
Luck or not, Kassouf found the fold and that gives Garcia Rivera one of the biggest stacks in the room. Kassouf, while not short at a three-bet more than the average, has work to do to get back to his former position in the field.

Stacy Matuson has been up among the big stacks down among the shorties and everywhere in between today. It's not been a typical day at the felt for the lady who came 169th in last year's WSOP Main Event for $42,285.
"I've never seen anything like it. I've been so up and down today."
She's not exaggerating. We caught up with Matuson to hear how she span it up from 11,500 to just under 70,000. It turns out that she turned a wheel straight and got it all-in against a player with the high-end open straight draw. Matuson improved to a flush on the river. In the next hand, Matuson held picket aces and improved her stack by another 10,000 chips. And just now, she's busted yet another player to bounce right back up to 120,000 chips, double the average with two levels left.
"I'm used to grinding. Tournament poker isn't usually so up and down all at once." she told us, but if she's putting in the preparation for a long summer grind in Vegas, it could hardly be going better.
