Event #69: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better
Dia 2 Terminado
Ten levels of play on Day 2 of Event #69: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better reduced what was a field of 141 players to just 13 still with a chance to win the World Series of Poker gold bracelet.
Leading the way are two players familiar with WSOP glory. Bracelet winner John Racener takes the chip lead into Day 3 after bagging 1,220,000 to end the night. Right behind him is four-time winner John Monnette (1,165,000), who is looking for his second bracelet in 2021.
The 2021 WSOP has awarded 66 bracelets so far. With the exception of the Ladies event, all the winners have had something in common: they were all men. Esther Taylor (1,100,000) and Carol Fuchs (940,000) will look to change that tomorrow. Taylor is chasing her sixth career appearance at a WSOP final table and her first bracelet. Fuchs is already a bracelet winner, prevailing in the $1,500 Dealers Choice event in 2015.
John Hoang (1,065,000), Day 1 chip leader Jermaine Reid (725,000), Perry Friedman (540,000) and bracelet winner Espen Sandvik (255,000) also bagged chips at the end of the night and will return to play tomorrow.

Day 2 began with 141 hopefuls still alive out of a starting field of 372. Actor James Woods and Ryan Leng were among those who fell before the money bubble. Paul Sokoloff was the unfortunate bubble boy, busting in 57th place. Once the money was reached, Mike Watson (50th), Chip Jett (24th), Shaun Deeb (22nd), and Nathan Gamble (18th) all headed to the payout desk.
John Evans was the last elimination of the day, falling in 14th place to the full house of Fuchs and low of Reid. That brought the field down to the 13 who will resume play at 3 p.m. PST on Friday. They will play down to a winner who will take home the bracelet and $113,459 first prize. Everyone left is guaranteed a payday of $5,195.
PokerNews will be tableside providing all the live updates until the final 13 becomes only one champion tomorrow.

Carol Fuchs bet on fifth street and Jermaine Reid raised. Action was on John Evans who tanked for several minutes before moving all in for 205,000. Fuchs re-raised and Reid called.
"You can't have a low so I'm good," Reid told Fuchs. Fuchs bet again on sixth street and seventh, with Reid calling both bets. Fuchs turned over for a full house, tens over queens, while Reid had for the low.
"How do I lay that down?" Evans wondered as he claimed to have the nut flush by fifth street. Fuchs and Reid split the pot, while Evans headed for the payout desk.
