After 19 levels of poker action, Day 1a of Event #3: €1,350 NLH Mini Main Event wrapped up in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, November 23 in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort in Rozvadov.

A total of 321 player registered for the first starting flight in the third gold bracelet event of the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe, which added €385,200 into the prize pool. The tournament has a guarantee of €600,000 and with over half of that already met, along with two more Day 1's to play out, it is heavily expected that figure will be eclipsed.

Cristinel Costin bagged the Day 1a chip lead with a stack of 1,750,000. Sirzat Hissou (1,450,000), Rolf van Brug (1,415,000), Omid Novin (1,250,000) and Andras Balogh (1,177,000) round out the top five biggest stacks advancing to the next stage.

Notables such as 2019 WSOPE Main Event Winner Jack Sinclair, Ali Amelipour and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel were unable to make Day 2.

PokerNews comes back to King's Resort for Day 1b which starts at 4 p.m. CET on Tuesday, November 23. Be sure to stick around for all the updates from the WSOPE.

Farid Azarkan
Farid Azarkan

Action folded to Farid Azarkan who jammed their 345,000 stack from the small blind. Giuliano Bendinelli called from the big blind.

Farid Azarkan: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Giuliano Bendinelli: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Azarkan found no help on the {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop. The {9-Spades} gave Bendinelli a straight but also gave Azarkan an open-ended straight draw. The river was a picture card but it was the {k-Spades}, sealing Azarkan's fate.

The 49 remaining players will now come back on Thursday, November 22 for Day 2.

D'Anselmo's fate of being the bubble boy looked sealed on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. The {6-Clubs} came on the turn to seal the check mark and double for the at risk player. The river came the {3-Clubs}.

Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

The action was recapped by Cristinel Costel - both him and Jack Sinclair committed their stacks. Costel had {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and was ahead of the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} held by Sinclair.

The flop came {a-}{k-}{x-} with Sinclair having four outs to Broadway. However the runout did not improve Sinclair the 2019 WSOPE Main Event Champion and he was eliminated late on in Day 1a.

Costin and Sinclair Tangle

Nível 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Cristinel Costin
Cristinel Costin

The flop read {9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Jack Sinclair had checked in the big blind. Cristinel Costin fired a bet of 30,000 out for Sinclair to raise to 90,000. Costin contemplated his options for a bit and then made the call.

The turn was the {a-} to pair the board up. Sinclair checked again and this time, Costin continued with a bet of 75,000 which was called.

The river completed the board with the {2-Clubs} and Sinclair checked for the final time. Costin barreled 200,000 over the line to send Sinclair into the tank.

After Costin peppered Sinclair with several remarks about the hands, the situation, and so on, he called the clock on Sinclair but before the floor could come over, Sinclair made the call with a grimace on his face. Costin tabled the {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the nut flush for Sinclair to muck.

From the talk afterwards, it seems like Sinclair had the lower flush.
