Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha

Dia 1b Terminado

Deeb Grabs Commanding Chip Lead After Day 1b of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb has returned to Rozvadov chasing back-to-back WSOP Player of the Year honors. After winning the title during 2018, he's currently in second place behind Robert Campbell but in a great spot to go deep in Event #2 and add more points to his current position.

Considering the fact that neither Campbell nor Daniel Negreanu, who is currently third in the POY race, managed to advance to Day 2 of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed, Deeb has the perfect opportunity to surpass Campbell. Based on WSOP.com's points calculator, and taking into consideration the total number of entries for Event #2, which was 476, the winner of this event will take 836 points, more than enough for Deeb to overtake Campbell.

This won't be an easy task for the four-time bracelet winner as the remaining competition is nothing short of fierce. Day 1b saw the likes of bracelet winners Jeff Madsen (371,000), Sebastian Langrock (355,000) and Anthony Zinno (258,000) all progress to Day 2, where they will meet another bracelet winner in Day 1a advancer Dash Dudley (657,000).

Day 1b tallied 309 entries, almost double the entries of Day 1a, and 26 of them managed to bag chips for Day 2. Except the aforementioned bracelet winners, Juozas Bizokas (544,000) and Paul Ming Juen Teoh (489,000), along with Deeb, occupy the first three spots in the chip counts.

Zinno Wins; Nanchev Out

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Aleksandar Nanchev shoved all in with the flop showing {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Anthony Zinno called him after one minute in the tank.

Aleksandar Nanchev: {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Anthony Zinno: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The {5-Spades} in the turn gave two pair to Nanchev but the {2-Spades} in the river gave a better two pair to Zinno who sent his opponent to the rail.
