Day 2 of Event #11: €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe ended with an official final table of eight, and no one else than the defending champion, Anson Tsang, is still among them.

Tsang, who has racked up $525,796 in WSOP cashes reached his fifth WSOP final table. In a very good shape during this festival, Tsang already finished fifth in Event #7: €1,100 Turbo Bounty Hunter No-Limit Hold'em and seventh in Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed).

Tsang has yet plenty of work ahead of him as he bagged 480,000 to land in the short stack position among the eight remaining runners. That gives him just over 16 big blinds heading to Day 3, as action stopped at level 23 with 31 minutes and 34 seconds remaining right after the last elimination of Andriy Lyubovetskiy (9th, €9,005) left the official final table set.

At the top of the count stands Tobias Peters has the heftiest stack with 2,445,00, worth 82 big blinds, giving him a slight lead over Swedish player Omar Eljach who has 1,895,000.

The rest of the field gathers Marc Palatzky (1,800,00), Ilyaz Dosikov (1,540,000), Tomas Ribeiro (1,200,000), Christopher Frank (835,000), hoping to catch the second gold bracelet of his career and Leonid Yanovski (620,000).

The money bubble burst early in the day with just five players set to miss cashing out of the 46 who began with chips. Among the unlucky ones were Jeffrey Cormier and Netanel Amedi, while Jonas Kronwitter felted in the bubble seat, eliminated by Ville Haavisto with two pair and a better flush draw.

After their respective demises, Jean-Noel Thorel (35th, €3,210), Allen Kessler (33th, €3,210), four-time bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (30th, €3,596) and Sam Higgs (27th, €3,596) were among the players cashing.

Daniel Negreanu, absent most of the time due to the fact he was multi-tabling with Event #10: €25,500 Mixed Games Championship, managed to double up his short stack with two pair against Marc Palatzky but ended up busting in 20th place for €4,127 and more points on the POY leaderboard.

Dash Dudley, recent winner of Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha for €51,600, his second gold bracelet this year, battled all day long with a stack around 20 big blinds and eventually ended up his run in in 13th Place for €5,829, calling with his last chips Omar Elbach on the river, who tabled a full house while Dudley held two pair.

Final table play kicks off at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 24th, and will be live-streamed until a new champion is crowned here at King's Resort, with the eventual winner banking €128,314.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the live updates of the final table.

Tsang Takes Chips to Palatzky

Nível 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Marc Palatzky raised to 65,000 and after some thinking, Anson Tsang called. Both players checked on the flop {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Tsang called a bet worth 40,000 from Palatzky on the {a-Hearts} turn and the river brought the {k-Spades}. Both checked and Tsang took down the pot with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a better two pair as Palatzky held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Three Barrels with Nuts for Palatzky

Nível 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

The biggest pot of the tournament so far went to Marc Palatzky, in a hand where he bet in three streets and got paid, when he showed the nuts.

The action opened with Andriy Lyubovetskiy opening to 60,000 from early position, while Palatzky called from middle position and Tobias Peters defended his big blind.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} with Peters and Lyubovetskiy checking, however Palatzky bet 65,000. Lyubovetskiy was the only caller and they went heads-up to the {5-Spades} on the turn. There, Lyubovetskiy checked again and Palatzky bet 200,000 this time, getting called again.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board on the river bringing a third consecutive check for Lyubovetskiy and a third bet in a row for Palatzky. This time he went big and bet 480,000 putting Lyubovetskiy in a difficult spot. He spent much time in order to decide and eventually another player called the clock on him. When the floor manager started counting Lyubovetskiy threw a chip in the middle to indicate the call and create a more than 1.5 million-chip pot.

Palatzky opened {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} with the nut flush and Lyubovetskiy mucked his hand, to become the shortest of the final table.

Nível 22 : 10,000/25,000, 0 ante
Aleh Rashetnikau
Aleh Rashetnikau

Aleh Rashetnikau was in the big blind and reraised to 150,000 after Marc Palatzky's open to 50,000 from the button. Palatzky shoved and Rashetnikau called to go to showdown.

Aleh Rashetnikau: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Marc Palatzky: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Rashetnikau left his seat to send the remaining players to the unofficial nine-handed final table. There will be a final redraw and they will continue to play until one more elimination occurs, that will set the official eight-handed final table.

Dosikov Takes One from Ribeiro

Nível 22 : 10,000/25,000, 0 ante

In a four-way limped pot, Ilyaz Dosikov checked in the small blind on a flop {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Tomas Ribeiro bet 75,000. Leonid Yanovski and Tobias Peters folded bur Dosikov called.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and Dosikov quickly check-called Ribeiro's bet for 250,000. The river {k-Clubs} was checked and Dosikov revealed {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a set of fives, which made Riebiro musk his cards.
