Event #9: €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller

Dia 2 Começado

Event #9: €25,000 No-Limit High Roller Day 2 Starts at 2 p.m.

Philipp Gruissem

Philipp Gruissem leads the way with 2,905,000 as Event #9: €25,000 No-Limit High Roller restarts at 2 p.m. Thursday. Gruissem is on top of a stacked field as you might expect from a high roller. It is almost easier to name the players who weren't seen during Day 1 that it would be to name the players who are coming back for Day 2.

A couple final tablists from the 2017 WSOP Main Event are in the field. Antoine Saout (2,030,000) and Benjamin Pollak (1,380,000) are here and have healthy stacks heading into today. Saout actually enters with the seventh largest stack.

One of those players is Chris Ferguson who extended his Player of the Year lead last night by winning Event #7: €1,650 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight or Better for €39,289. Shortly after the final river card fell Ferguson ran over and registered for Event #9. He is likely to be joined by a handful of players registering before Day 2 begins.

The event is scheduled to end today in time for the players to play the €111,111 One Drop. The blinds will start at 15,000/30,000 and players who enter will get the 500,000 starting stack. Below are the top ten stacks entering the day.

Petrangelo Doubles Through Sammartino

Nível 13 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

It folded to Niall Farrell on the button who raised to 70,000. Nick Petrangelo then three-bet all in for 415,000. Dario Sammartino was in the big blind and thought before moving all in himself. Farrell folded.

"I have a two," said Petrangelo before the cards were turned over.

Nick Petrangelo: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Dario Sammartino: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Petrangelo's Ace-high held on the {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} board and he doubled up.

Martin Kabrhel opened to 65,000 in middle position and saw two shoves occur. Sam Grafton put his stack of about 600,000 in on the button and Mikita Badziakouski shoved in the big blind for a little under the starting stack. Kabrhel folded.

Grafton: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Badziakouski: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, leaving Badziakouski shaking his head after going from fading a three-outer to having two outs himself after the turn.

"Unlucky," Grafton said.

"Thank you, sir, for saving me," Kabrhel said to Badziakouski, adding that he had ace-queen.

Grafton Chips Up Through Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel limped under the gun and Sam Grafton raised to 95,000 from the hijack. Kabrhel called and the pair saw a {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop.

Kabrhel checked and Grafton continued for 135,000. Kabrhel called.

The unusually quiet pair checked the {9-Spades} turn and the {8-Spades} river. Kabrhel showed {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for a pair of jacks while Grafton showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens and took down the pot.

Gruissem Applies the Pressure

Nível 13 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem was in the small blind and asked for a look at Sylvain Loosli's remaining stack. Loosli was in the big blind and had about 480,000 remaining.

Gruissem limped and Loosli checked his option. The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Gruissem bet 50,000. Loosli called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Gruissem bet again, this time making it 125,000 to go. Loosli called.

The river was the {a-Clubs} and Gruissem bet 500,000. Loosli had only 390,000 behind and went into the tank. He took very close to the maximum allowed time before deciding to fold.
