Rene Berube had put a big bet in on a board and was called by Cosmin Joldis. Berube showed for two pair, jacks and nines and that was enough for Joldis to muck his hand.
"I had kings and opened, another guy raised to 9,000 and then another one reraised to 19,000 something. I went all in for about 33,000 and the first guy folded but the other called with ace-king. The ace came, of course," Luske said, with a hint of defeat in his voice.
"I opened to 2,000 from mid-position and was called by the player in the big blind. The flop came jack-five-three rainbow. He checked, I bet 3,000, he raised to 8,000 and I called. The turn was a two. He put me all-in for about 25,000 and I called. He had jack-four for top pair with a straight draw, I had pocket queens. The river was a seven so I doubled up!"
