Durrrr Dusted

Nível 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Tom Dwan - out
Tom Dwan - out

In a battle of the blinds, Brian Powell came into the pot with a limp from the small, and Tom Dwan raised to 3,800 from the big. Powell quickly called, and they took a {9-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {8-Spades} flop heads-up. Powell checked it over, and Dwan continued out with another 5,600. Now Powell studied the situation carefully, and he eventually tossed out three or four big blue T10,000 chips, enough to put Dwan to the decision for the ~30,000 he had behind. The call came quickly, and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Powell: {7-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Dwan: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}

Powell didn't have to wait long for his straight draw to come in. The {J-Spades} on the turn left Dwan drawing dead right there, and he was already a few steps from the table by the time the meaningless {7-Spades} rivered.

Dwan's day is done with 37 players left, and Powell has climbed to about 160,000 as he rids the table of a fellow shark.

Robl Tanking Away

From the cutoff seat, Andrew Robl raised to 2,800. Bruno Fitoussi called from the big blind and the flop came down {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Fitoussi checked and Robl bet 4,200. Fitoussi check-raised to 10,200 and then Robl began to tank. He tanked for roughly two minutes and then reraised to 22,000. Fitoussi now tanked for a minute, asked Robl how much he had behind, which was 33,000, and then made the call.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and Fitoussi checked. Robl tanked with his decision for a solid four minutes, maybe even five. He then checked.

The river was the {K-Clubs} and Fitoussi announced that he was all in, sliding a bunch of chips forward. Robl gave it another minute or two of thought and then folded his hand.

Kenney Tank-Folds River

Massimiliano Martinez check-called a bet of 4,800 from Bryn Kenney on the flop of {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} before seeing the {8-Spades} land on the turn. Martinez checked again and Kenney checked behind.

The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Martinez fired 13,400. Kenney tanked for a bit and then folded his hand.

The Demise and Elimination of Phil Hellmuth, with Some Needling from Tony G

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Phil Hellmuth eliminated
Phil Hellmuth eliminated

Phil Hellmuth has been eliminated after an up-and-down ride over the past little bit before finally being eliminated.

Jason Mercier relayed a couple hands to us involving Hellmuth and here's what he had to say. According to him, Jonathan Duhamel raised to 2,000 and Hellmuth reraised to 6,200 with 9,000 behind. Action folded to Randy Dorfman and he moved all in. Duhamel folded and then Hellmuth also chucked his cards into the muck.

On another hand, Mercier raised to 2,000, Juhan Lauttamus called and then Hellmuth called from the big blind. On the {6-}{3-}{2-} flop with two clubs, Hellmuth checked, Mercier bet 2,600, Lauttamus called and then Hellmuth min-raised to 5,200 with 1,200 behind. Mercier folded and then Lauttamus moved all in. Hellmuth called with the {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Lauttamus held the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}.

The turn was a {5-} and the river another {5-}. Neither was a club and Hellmuth's straight allowed him to double up.

On his final hand, Hellmuth was all in preflop with the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} versus Davidi Kitai's {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Hellmuth headed for the exit. While walking away from the table, Hellmuth walked past Tony G. The two have had plenty of historical banter between them and Tony G asked, "You get biked? You leaving?" Hellmuth didn't respond directly, but was mumbling about never winning a race. "Wow, that's so far to come to go out so early," added Tony G.

Hellmuth was pacing and continued mumbling. Tony G rubbed some more salt in the wounds by telling Hellmuth he wasn't good enough for these stakes and that he needs to go back down to the smaller buy-ins. The players in the room got a good laugh from this and Tony G was just having fun at Hellmuth's expense. Hellmuth didn't engage in the banter and made his way out the door.

See You in November

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A player we don't recognize raised to open the pot, and Matt Giannetti three-bet shoved for another 9,000 on top. He didn't have enough chips to get {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} to fold, and that would end up being a problem for his {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}.

One by one, the dealer placed the board cards on the felt, starting with the {A-Spades} right away. The board read {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {Q-Spades} in the end, and Giannetti was already packed up and ready to roll when the final card hit the board.

He'll have a couple more chances to snag a bracelet on this trip, followed by the biggest final table of his life at the November Nine in Las Vegas.

Haxton Falls, Too

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We only caught up on the turn in this pot, joining in time to see Isaac Haxton flick out a blue T10,000 chip on the turn of a {10-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {4-Spades} board. There was about 12,000 in the pot, and Joel Nordkvist thought for a moment before announcing a covering all in. Haxton sunk in his chair and lowered his head onto the rail, clearly a bit uncomfortable with the decision facing him. He broke down his stack, eyeballing his remaining ~34,000 chips with a bit of a sad look on his face, for lack of a better way to put it. Finally, he opened his hands to the ceiling and said, "All right, I call."

Showdown
Haxton: {Q-Spades} {K-Spades}
Nordkvist: {9-Spades} {10-Spades}

Haxton was on the come, but he had about as many outs as he could have hoped for. He needed to find any nine, queen, king, ace, or spade, but the river was the blank {6-Clubs}. That won't get it done, and Haxton's day has come to an end.

Jetten Bows Out

Peter Jetten was unable to recover from his early crippling at the hands of Dan Fleyshman. A moment ago, Jetten three-bet shoved his short stack in what would be his final hand of the day. Michael Mizrachi had opened the pot, but it was Massimiliano Martinez that made the call to put Jetten at risk.

Showdown
Jetten: {6-} {6-}
Martinez: {7-} {7-}

The board ran {9-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {9-Spades} {K-Spades} {10-Spades}, and Jetten couldn't catch up. He quietly wished his table luck and headed out the door.
