Here Comes Fleyshman

Dan Fleyshman seems to think he's playing a Shootout today. Walking past his table, we see that he's worked his starting stack of about 70,000 up over 200,000 here in the first few minutes, and there's not many more chips left between the other five seats at his table. His neighbor Peter Jetten started with six figures, but he's now down under 10,000 after a big clash with Fleyshman.

And just a moment ago, Fleyshman took out his other neighbor, Farzad Bonyadi in a battle of the blinds. It began with Alexander Rumeliotis opening to 1,600 from middle position, and Bonyadi flatted in the small blind. In the big, Fleyshman looked down at two queens and squeezed in a reraise to 5,800. That folded Rumeliotis, but Bonyadi moved all in over the top with {A-Spades} {10-Spades}, and Fleyshman put him to the test.

The flop brought a ten and two more spades for Bonyadi, but he could not get over the hump as the turn and river bricked off.

Fleyshman, America's youngest-ever CEO of a publicly traded company, finished in seventh place in the WSOPE Main Event in London last year, and the style he employs makes him a threat to win whenever he amasses a chip stack. You could certainly call 210,000 "a chip stack" right now, and Fleyshman's big lead sets him up well for the rest of the day.

Waxman Climbing

Matt Giannetti raised to 2,000 from middle position and Matt Waxman called out of the big blind to see the flop come down {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Waxman checked and Giannetti bet 2,000. Waxman made the call.

The turn was the {A-Hearts} and both players checked to see another ace land on the river with the {A-Diamonds}. Waxman bet 7,500 and Giannetti tanked for a couple minutes. He eventually laid it down and Waxman won the pot.

"Whoa!"

Joey Lawrence has just been sent to the rail by Tony G. We didn't see how the money got in before the flop, but Lawrence was short-stacked and content to flip for double or nothing with {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}. Tony G showed up {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, and Lawrence stood up and slid his chair under the table. "Confident, huh?" Tony G asked with a smirk.

The board ran out blanks, coming {9-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {K-Clubs}, and Lawrence's day is done early.

Elpayaa Gets It Back and Busts Lamb

From under the gun, Ben Lamb raised to 1,700. In the cutoff seat, Joseph Elpayaa flat-called the raise before everyone else folded. The flop came down {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Lamb fired 2,000. Elpayaa raised to 4,700 and Lamb came back with a reraise to 9,400 after first trying to reraise smaller and having the rule explained to him that he must double the amount of the total bet he's facing. Elpayaa moved all in and Lamb quickly called for less.

Lamb was all in for right around 25,000 with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. Elpayaa had him pipped with the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

"Definitely thought I was going to be ahead," said Lamb with the cards on their backs.

The turn brought the {A-Hearts} to leave Lamb drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {Q-Clubs}.

Hellmuth Four-Bets Lauttamus

From the cutoff seat, Phil Hellmuth raised to 2,100. After that, action folded to Juhan Lauttamus in the big blind and he took a couple minutes before deciding on his action. Eventually, Lauttamus three-bet to 6,200. After a minute, Hellmuth announced, "Raise it up," and four-bet to 14,000. Lauttamus quickly mucked and Hellmuth won the pot.

Kenney Smashes the Early Double (Again?)

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

The table folded around to the blinds, and Roger Hairabedian raised to what looked like 2,700. Bryn Kenney was in the big blind, and he shoved all in for his last 24,100. Since he started the day with just 10,000, it looks like he's already snuck in one double-up today when we weren't looking. In any event, Hairabedian quickly called, and the cards were on their backs with Kenney looking to double again.

Showdown
Hairabedian: {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}
Kenney: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

Kenney didn't have to sweat for long as he paired up right on the flop. The board ran out {J-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {3-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, and kings up earn him the double up. He's back to 48,800 now,

Lamb Triples Early

From under the gun, Ben Lamb raised all in for 7,800. Carlos Mortensen called in the next seat and then Joseph Elpayaa reraised all in from the cutoff seat for 39,300 total. Play folded back to Mortensen, he gave it some thought, but then folded.

Lamb: {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Elpayaa: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The flop came down to give Lamb the lead with the {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} falling. The turn {10-Spades} and river {8-Spades} kept him in front and he tripled his stack and then some.
