Event #4: €3,200 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout

Dia 2 Terminado

Rapid Day as Another WSOPE Final Table is Set

Nível 4 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

It took less than four hours of play to complete all our ten Day 2 tables of this the €3,200 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout. They were all 3-max to be fair but the action was still rapid nonetheless. The fact that it took ElkY the longest to complete his win, tells you all you need to know. He completes a stellar line-up for the fourth final table of this series.

Here's the seat draw for the final ten players:

 SeatNameChips
 1James Dempsey230,000
 2Richard Toth231,000
 3Taylor Paur233,000
 4Tristan Wade238,000
 5Max Silver246,000
 6John Armbrust232,000
 7Emil Patel237,000
 8Steve O'Dwyer231,000
 9Michael Watson245,000
 10Bertrand Grospellier235,000

There were many notable names who had their high hopes dashed today. Freddy Deeb was first out when his nut straight lost out to Steve O'Dwyer's set when the latter filled up on the river. It wasn't too long before Vanessa Selbst was out in the sun too. Her pocket kings were beaten by the quad sixes of Max Silver, who then went on to beat Terrance Chan heads-up.

Chad Brown, James Mitchell, Anton Makiievskyi, Tommy Vedes, Tobias Reinkemeier and Ryan D'Angelo were all amoungst the 20 players who will have to be happy with the €6,913 they received for winning their first table. D'Angelo will feel the most aggrieved with the amount though as he had O'Dwyer all-in twice as an 80% favourite, but lost both times.

The final table is due to start at 3pm local time and all the action will be covered here on Pokernews.com and in moving pictures via wsop.com.

ElkY Seals the Win

Bertrand Grospellier
Bertrand Grospellier

ElkY continued to grind Dylan Wilkerson to the point where he had just 48,500 when he shoved from the button with {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}. ElkY made the call with {a-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the board ran {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

ElkY completes our final table of ten and will take through 235,000 chips.

At Last We Have a Showdown

Nível 4 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is running away with this match, having won six of the last seven pots, including the first showdown in the last 20-30 minutes.

Dylan Wilkerson raises to 5,000 and ElkY makes the call. The flop comes down {8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Spades} and both players checked. The {Q-Hearts} on the river is checked by ElkY, Wilkerson bets 6,000 and ElkY calls. The {Q-Diamonds} on the river is checked by both players.

ElkY shows {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and it is enough to take down the pot.

ElkY Grinding Wilkerson

Nível 4 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

ElkY has a two-to-one lead over Dylan Wilkerson after grinding him down in a lots of smallish pots.

The most notable pot was when ElkY called a 5,000 raise to see a {9-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop where both players checked. The turn came {j-Clubs} and ElkY led for 6,600. Call. The river came {q-Spades} and the Frenchman led once more, for 11,100. It was too much for Wilkerson and he folded.

We Are Down To The Last Table

Nível 4 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

There are only two players in the tournament area right now, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier is battling it out against Dylan Wilkerson.

Most pots are been settled preflop, with ElkY winning four consecutive pots then Wilkerson winning the next two. The duo are quite evenly matched in terms of chips so it should be an interesting encounter.

Brutal End for D'Angelo

Nível 3 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
The untouchable Steve O'Dwyer
The untouchable Steve O'Dwyer

Ryan D'Angelo was SO right about not being able to win pre-flop all-ins and Steve O'Dwyer is SO right about how well he's running right now.

The two players got all their chips in pre-flop and once more D'Angelo was dominating with his {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} versus the {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} of O'Dwyer. Just before the board was dealt O'Dwyer said, "I like my chances".

He was right to feel optimistic too as the board ran {4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} to make him a set. He takes through 231,000 to tomorrow.
