McDonald Struggling

Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

On a {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{A-Hearts} board we picked up the action between Mike McDonald and Kambiz Kashi. McDonald checked to Kashi who bet 11,000 into a 16,000 chip pot. The youngest EPT winner ever finally made the call leaving himself with just 7,800. Kashi showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and took down the pot.

The very next hand McDonald raised to 3,500 from the button after which he got his chips in against Kashi who was in the big blind.

Mike McDonald{K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades}
Kambiz Kashi{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} giving McDonald the win and the much needed double up.

Phil Hellmuth Busts Event #3

We caught the action on the turn. The board had revealed itself and it was {A-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {6-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. David Callaghan (who had Hellmuth covered) checked to the Poker Brat who announced pot. This was a bet of around 19,000 and Callaghan immediately announced a check-raise that put Hellmuth all-in and he called.

Callaghan{10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades}
Hellmuth{A-Clubs} {k-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Hellmuth was eliminated (before he got a chance to take his steaming pill!)

Mercier Playing on Two Fronts

Jason Mercier is multi-tasking at the moment. Not only is he cruising in this tournament but he is also playing 13-card Chinese poker against Steve Billirakis who is also still in this tournament.

"Fancy a game?" He asked Alex Kravchenko who was asking him what he was doing.

Kravchenko politely declined but did download the app.

Tristan Clemencon raised to 1,700 in early position and three players called. The flop was {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} and everyone checked. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Mercier bet 4,100 to win the pot.

Kravchenko Double Up

Alex Kravchenko bets 2,800 from under the gun and Dries Goyens moves all-in from the small blind and Kravchenko makes the call (the pot is 14,000).

Kravchencko{A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {3-Hearts}
Goyens{K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}

Board: {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}

The dealer went to give Kravchenko all of Goyens chips until Kravchenko told him that Goyens still had 2,500 remaining. By this time Phil Hellmuth had returned from his walk.

"So you don't make mistakes? You just tried to bust a player who hadn't busted and yet you are so sure he checked earlier on?" Hellmuth said referring to his previous hand. "I believe the player I don't believe you," said Hellmuth.

Hellmuth got up and went for a walk, "David, David (Benyamine) do you have a pill that can stop me from steaming?"

Trickett Confused

On a board reading {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{K-Spades} Sam Trickett bet out 8,500. Elie Payan, who won a PLO bracelet in Las Vegas this summer, decided to raise to 20,000 putting the Brit to the test. Trickett started mumbling about the hands Payan could have and eventually folded.

Besides this loss Trickett is doing fine with over a 100,000 chips. Payan had the chip lead for the most part yesterday but ended up losing a bunch towards the end, he's back on top now and closing in on the other big stacks.

Naughty Dealer

It has taken 58-minutes of the first level for Phil Hellmuth to lose his cool. This time his anger is directed at the dealer and this is why.

The action folds around to Hellmuth who announces pot. The dealer tells him that he can bet 2,800 and he does. Alfredo Vega calls in the small blind and both players share a flop of {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}. The next action is a 3,000 Hellmuth bet, but the dealer gives him a warning because he had checked out of position. Vegas sought confirmation that if he checked the Hellmuth 3,000 bet would have to stand before check-raising to 16,000. Hellmuth clenches his fist in anger and after several shakes of the head he folds his hand.

"Are you sure you didn't see him check?" Hellmuth asks the Dealer.

"Sure," replied the dealer.

"I don't like it when people say they are sure," Hellmuth says before getting up and going for a walk to blow off some steam.

Table 78 Big Stacks

Shannon Shorr just got moved to Di Lauro's table. The number one and two from yesterday could still clash in a massive pot but both players started the day off with a loss. Dermot Blain is doing very well at the start of the day and he also among the chip leaders now.
