Day 2 Awaits

We're just a few minutes away from the restart of Event #2, and Day 2 awaits the 104 players who've survived this long in the €1,090 buy-in event.

It's Aussie Andrew Hinrichsen in front of the pack for now, apparently still running hot on the heels of his deep run in the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas this summer. Among the relative unknowns left in the field are a smattering of familiar names, as well, and the road to the bracelet is still a tough one. Toby Lewis, Roberto Romanello, Randy Dorfman, Tyler Kenney, and Vanessa Selbst all begin this day with above-average stacks, while guys like Peter Jetten, Dan Kelly, and Dan Shak have some work to do as they return to thinly-stuffed chip bags this afternoon.

The players have just begun taking their seats, and the chips have begun rattling around the felt. We'll be off and running in about ten minutes, so don't wander off!

Jetten Shoves it In

Nível 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Peter Jetten only had 6,000 chips to return to on Day 2, and he didn't waste any time moving them into the pot. When the action folded to him in middle position, he shoved in for 5,900 with {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts}. From the small blind, Nicolas Jussot had missed the action, and he announced, "Seventeen hundred," as he dropped the matching amount into the pot.

"Floor!"

Jack Effel ruled that the 1,700 must remain in the pot, and Jussot had the option to call the remaining 4,200 or forfeit his chips. After some time, he elected to do the latter, and big blind Yves Lanvin made the quick call, tabling {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}.

Jetten couldn't find anything to sweat on board, and he and his queen-seven have been relegated to the rail.

Unlucky 77

Nível 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

The players on the second half of Table 77 are the unluckiest players in the room. Just look at the first four seats there:

Seat 1: Vanessa Selbst
Seat 2: McLean Karr
Seat 3: Roberto Romanello
Seat 4: Nicolas Chouity

Yikes! We're going to keep a close eye on that table for the time being.

Lejolivet Busts Bonyadi Flush Over Flush

We picked up the action on the turn in this hand and it turned out to be a big one. As a result, Farzad Bonyadi -- who began the day on 26,800 in chips -- was eliminated.

Gregory Lejolivet bet 800 on the {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{K-Hearts} board and Bonyadi put in a raise to 4,300. Lejolivet began to count out chips and put in a reraise to 9,400. Bonyadi only took about ten seconds or so to move all in. Lejolivet quickly called and tabled the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. Bonyadi held a weaker flush, but wasn't stone dead yet with the {J-Spades}{9-Spades}. He still had an out to a straight flush if the {7-Spades} were to fall.

The river landed with the {5-Clubs} and Bonyadi couldn't pull of the miracle. At the final count of the chips, Lejolivet's all-in bet of 25,000 had Bonyadi just covered. Bonyadi was sent to the rail while Lejolivet boomed to over 50,000 in chips.
