Alexander Salabaschew New Chip Leader

Alexander Salabaschew - New Chip Leader
Alexander Salabaschew - New Chip Leader

We join the action on the flop of {10-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and three players in the pot (Shawn Buchanan SB, Alexander Salabaschew UTG+1 and Martin Czuczor HJ). Buchanan checked and Salabaschew bet 5,500 before Czuczor raised to 16,300. Buchanan went into deep thought mode before making the call as did Salabaschew. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Buchanan checked to Salabaschew who now bet 50,000. Czuczor pulled a funny face before folding and Buchanan went deep into the tank. After a period of about five minutes Buchanan moved all-in for a little over 50,000 and Salabaschew called.

Salabaschew{A-Spades} {A-Clubs}
Buchanan{J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

The river bricked off, Buchanan was eliminated and Salabaschew took the chip lead.

Also eliminated just prior to Buchanan were Todd Terry (33rd), Edmilson Oliveira (32nd), Michael Friedrich (31st), Laurent Sanchez (30th) and Sylvain Mazza (28th).

Speranza Stays Active, Wade Needs Help

Alessandro Speranza keeps playing pots and after losing a big one against Freddy Deeb earlier he now beat Tristan Wade out of an even bigger one.

We caught the action on the turn when there was {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} on the board. Wade checked to Speranza who bet 10,500 and the American called.

The river brought the {10-Spades} and Wade checked again. Speranza had a bit of trouble betting a large amount but ended up shoving 22,500 across the line with both hands. Wade thought about it for a while and called and mucked angrily when Speranza showed {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Deeb's Doing Work

Alessandro Speranza has been one of the more agressive players in the tournament, and he just gave quite a few chips to former WSOP $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Champion Freddy Deeb. Speranza raised from the button and after the small blind folded Deeb decided to three-bet to 11,200. Speranza gave it some thought and four-bet to 22,400 clicking it back to the experienced Deeb.

Deeb sat back in his chair and took a couple of sips from his coffee before counting out the 11,200 he needed to call. After two minutes Deeb threw in the chips and that's how we saw {Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades} appear on the flop. Both players didn't seem interested in betting and checked it all the way down. The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and the river, the {7-Clubs}. Deeb showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and won the hand. Speranza looked frustrated and when he tried to muck his cards the {K-Diamonds} flashed. Deeb is doing very well while Speranza keeps swinging.

Guillaume Humbert - Chip Leader

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Guillame Humbert - Chip Leader
Guillame Humbert - Chip Leader

Guillaume Humbert is our new chip leader with 235,000 chips and we have just found out how he earned them. It seems that in one of the very last hands of the break, Humbert eliminated our Day One chip leader Flavien Guenan in a hand Guenan described as "disgusting play".

Humbert made a standard raise and Guenan three-bet from the small blind holding {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} and Humbert called. The flop was {4-} {3-} {3-} and Guenan made a c-bet and Humbert called. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the flop action was repeated. On the river we had the {4-} and Guenan moved all-in for 70,000 into a pot of 50,000 and Humbert tank-called with pocket kings.

Wigg Forces Maeda To Fold Queens

Anton Wigg
Anton Wigg

Peter Jetten raised to 3,700 in early position , Anton Wigg called in the small blind and then Azusa Maeda made the squeeze from the big blind. The price to pay was 9,700 and only Wigg decided his hand was worth playing for.

Flop: {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

Wigg checked to Maeda who grabbed chips instantly and dropped 11,000 of them over the line. Back to Wigg and he check-raised to 24,700 and Maeda folded pocket queens face up. Wigg slid his cards face-down to the dealer and welcomed the new chips to his stack.

Elimination Station

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We have quickly moved down from 36 players to 33 but only saw one of the eliminations.

Romain Matteoli was all-in holding pocket jacks but he ran into Azusa Maeda who was holding pocket kings. The board didn't change anything and Matteoli was out in 34th place for a €4,536. Two other players have also won that amount after being eliminated, Martins Adeniya (36th) and Flavien Guenan (35th).
