Daniel Negreanu Eliminated From the Main Event

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Poker's all-time money leader has busted from the Main Event.

The hand before Negreanu busted, he opened to 3,500 from middle position and got calls from both players in the blinds.

When the flop fanned out {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, the player in the small blind took the betting lead, sliding out 6,100. Negreanu went into the tank.

"If you check, I was doing everything," Negreanu said as he cut down his stack. "Don't know if that's good or bad for you."

Negreanu eventually folded, showing the {a-Spades}. His opponent tabled {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for just six-high. A stunned Negreanu looked around and said, "That had me as confused as I've ever been in my life."

The very next hand, Negreanu moved all-in from early position and was put at risk by John Allan Hinds out of the big blind.

Negreanu: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Hinds: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Negreanu was in great shape to score a double up as the dealer laid out a {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop. The turn was {3-Spades}, sparking some chatter around the table. Hinds had picked up a flush draw and it would be completed when the dealer swept out the {9-Spades} on the river.

Negreanu gave his best to the table, wishing them luck before saying goodbye to the Main Event.

Koon Lays Down Aces

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jason Koon raised to 3,500 from the cutoff, the player on the button called, and the player in the big blind called.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the big blind led for 7,000. Koon called, the button raised to 22,000, the big blind folded after some thought, and Koon folded as well, showing {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

"Had that beat," said the player in the big blind.

"Bottom two?" asked Koon.

The player in the big blind nodded, while the player on the button showed {A-Spades}{6-Spades} as he collected the pot.

Kenneth Cleeton Doubles Up

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Kenneth Cleeton
Kenneth Cleeton

Perhaps it was the visit of the departing Daniel Negreanu which spurred Kenneth Cleeton on, but he just {a-}{q-} against the {10-}{10-} of his opponent thanks to a {q-} on the river.

And who was the happiest person in the room? His father, who let out a yelp of celebration which could be heard from several tables over.

A look of relief swept across Cleeton's face as he wheeled around in celebration. He now sits on a much healthier stack of just over 75,000 with under an hour left before the end of the day.

Daniel Santoro Knocks One Out Aces vs Kings

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Two players got all the chips in preflop and it was a dream scenario for Daniel Santoro. Santoro was in the cutoff with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} against his opponent in middle position, who held {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and had committed his whole stack of around 145,000.

The board ran out {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, safe for Santoro, and he eliminated his opponent and collected the huge pot that took him over 300,000 chips.

Hein Scores Unlikely Knockout

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After a raise by a player in early position, Hans Joachim Hein three-bet to 13,500 out of the small blind and the initial raiser pushed forward most of his stack for 50,000 with very few chips behind. Hein moved all in and received a snap-call.

Once the cards were tabled, Hein shook his head as the German trailed with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} against {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}. However, the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop delivered a flush draw and the {8-Clubs} turn improved Hein to a flush. A king or eight would see the player at risk double, but instead it was the {10-Clubs} river that sealed his fate.

Artan Dedusha
Artan Dedusha

With 45,000 in the pot, Artan Dedusha put 20,000 in from the cutoff on a {9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop. His opponent in the hijack moved all in, causing Dedusha to sigh. He got a count and it was 46,500 more.

"I guess you win," Dedusha said, plopping in a call.

Dedusha: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Dedusha's opponent was disgusted after the showdown, and the board ran out {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

"I don't know why you say s*** like that," the eliminated player said as he got up.

After the hand, Dedusha insisted to the remaining players that he felt he was likely beat.

Mike Leah Wins a Blind Battle

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On a board of {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} Mike Leah was facing off against his small blind opponent from the big blind with about 3,000 already in the pot. Leah's opponent led out with a bet of 1,600 and Leah called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and the small blind led out again this time for 2,600. Leah called again.

On the {8-Diamonds} river, the small blind led out again, this time for 6,000. Leah snap called. The small blind showed {10-Spades}{2-Spades} but it was no good because Leah was holding {J-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for two pair and he took down the pot.
