On the board, both players checked to see the on the turn. Lakemeier fired 32,000, and Hughes called. The river was the , and Lakemeier fired again, this time putting out a bet of 87,000. Hughes thought for a couple of minutes, then annoucned a call.

Lakemeier showed for a Broadway straight and seven-six for a low. That earned him both sides of the pot as Hughes mucked his hand, and Lakemeier solidified his position as the chip leader.
