It’s fitting that, in the inaugural $2,500 Big Bet Mix, someone will win their first World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Each of the final tablists has a story to tell and we’ll start with the chipleader:

Jens Lakemeier comes into the day with 702,000 and is looking for the second-biggest live score of his career, which he can achieve with a win. Lakemeier has three tournament wins on his poker resume: in pot-limit Omaha, five-card hi-lo, and eight-game mix, and will be looking to secure the biggest profile win of his career to date.

Jerry Wong has 680,000 chips and has two WSOP final tables to his name. Most famous for making the 2016 November Nine, where he finished eighth, Wong has close to $3M in live earnings and will be looking to add to that with victory today.

Jason Stockfish with 514,000 chips has two runner-up finishes at the WSOP. Last year he finished second in the $1,500 Eight Game Mix while this year less than one month ago he finished second in the $565 Pot-Limit Omaha. Stockfish will be looking to take down this tournament and go that one step further and secure his first WSOP gold bracelet.

Ashton Griffin has 232,500 in chips and is looking for his first WSOP final table since 2013. His deepest run came one year previously when he finished fifth in the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw event for $55,482.

Andrew Kelsall has three final tables on his WSOP resume and has 185,500 in chips. This year, he has two including a third place in the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.

Kenneth Fitzgerald is the short stack at the table and will come back with just 143,000 in chips. With just over $60K in lifetime earnings, he looks set to add to that with a deep run today.

Stay tuned to PokerNews throughout today to see who will be crowned the victor in the $2,500 Big Bet Mix.

Big O

On the second hand of the day, Jason Stockfish raised to 25,000 from the button and Kenneth Fitzgerald announced pot from the big blind and raised to 64,000. Stockfish re-potted and the cards were turned over.

Stockfish: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Fitzgerald: {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, giving both players two pairs with ace-king, and Stockfish an eight-six low.

"You Can Never Be Too Careful"

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 3,000 ante

Big O

Jens Lakemeier limped from the small blind and Andrew Kelsall checked his option from the big blind.

Lakemeier led with a bet of 10,000 on the flop of {2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} which Kelsall called.

The turn was the {J-Spades} and both players checked. On the {A-Diamonds} river, Lakemeier bet again, this time for 15,000. Kelsall made a face, then called. Lakemeier showed {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} as his best hand, but Kelsall flipped up {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for the best full house, and it was good to take down the pot.

"You can never be too careful," Jerry Wong said after the hand.

"What do you want me to do?" Kelsall responded. "Raise?"

Wong smiled and shook his head.

No-Limit Hold'em

Ashton Griffin, from the cutoff, raised to 23,000. Action folded around to Kenneth Fitzgerald in the big and he moved all in for roughly 75,000. Griffin instantly called.

Fitzgerald: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Griffin: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} which gave Fitzgerald some extra outs on the flop, but never materialized. Fitzgerald will take home $16,793 for his sixth-place finish which is his biggest World Series of Poker cash so far.
