There have been a lot of players firing two bullets today looking to build a stack moving forward. There has been a total of 2,923 entries so far, with over an hour remaining in the late registration period.
Last year's flight 1c saw 3,770 players compete. Right now, after just a couple of levels of play, the total for the day is 2,850. Registration is open for some more levels, and everyone is welcome to play Day 1d as well. Day 1d starts at 4 p.m. local time.
Thomas Taylor raised from middle position to 500 and got two callers. The flop came and both players checked to Taylor who bet 700. His opponent in the small blind called and they went heads up to the turn.
The turn landed the and again his opponent checked. Taylor bet 1,600 and got called.
The river was the and his opponent checked for the third time. Taylor bet 2,500, sending his opponent into the tank. He finally called and Taylor gladly showed , rivering the nuts to take down the pot.
Dennis Phillips and John Racener are seated at the same table in Amazon, sharing Table 180. Phillips finished third in the 2008 WSOP Main Event for $4,517,773, the year Estgate won. John Racener finished runner-up to Jonathan Duhamel in the Main Event in 2010 for $5,545,955.
"All in! I'm all in!" we heard someone say with a loud voice over on table 36 in the Amazon Room.
We rushed over to see what was going on. The flop was out, it read something like , and the button was making sure the entire table and dealer knew he was all in.
But... the player on the button didn't have any cards. In fact, no one at the table had cards. The dealer had skipped the preflop action and had just gotten busy burning and dealing a flop. These 10 a.m. starts are early for everyone.
Verbal was, in this case, not binding. The dealer removed the flop, started a new shuffle, and this time dealt the players their cards.
