Negreanu, Wasserson, Benyamine and Gregorich Lead the Final Six Teams at the End of Day 2

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Six-time WSOP champion Daniel Negreanu captained his team into the chip lead on Day 2 after playing the majority of the day. Negreanu is a household name in the poker world with over $16 million in WSOP earnings and is considered by many to be one of, if not the best tournament player in the world.

Negreanu's team started the Day 2 with 78,000 in chips and steadily climbed the leaderboard throughout the day. The first chip-up that Negreanu found was against Jack Salter early on, taking his team's stack over the 120,000 mark. During Level 13 Negreanu once again tangled with Salter and eliminated his team after getting it in with pocket fives versus Salter's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Salter pulled ahead on the turn, but Negreanu took it down on the river to cross the 250,000-chip mark. Ben Yu was Negreanu's next victim when the two got into a pre-flop race. Negreanu held pocket eights versus Yu's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and held after the board ran out clean, vaulting him into the top three chip stacks at the time with 640,000.

Action reached the final two tables and Negreanu showed no signs of slowing down. He won a decent pot off of Jan Schwippert with pocket rockets, won another off of Javier Gomez, and then eliminated Paul Snead on the final table bubble after cracking Snead's aces with pocket kings. That put Negreanu over the million chip mark with nine teams remaining and he was poised to make his run to the top. Negreanu then caught a heater to get going on the final table after hitting back-to-back sets, then two pair and within five hands hit broadway versus Ankush Mandavia.

By the time the dust settled, Negreanu had accumulated 1,498,000 and his team was clear of the second biggest chip stack belonging to the team of Anthony Ajlouny, David Fong, and Michael McClain, who bagged 932,000. Right on their heels is the team of Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree who have 929,000.

Join us Friday at 2:00 p.m. for the conclusion of this exciting final table as these six teams battle it out for the first place prize of $273,964 and the coveted WSOP bracelets in this inaugural $10,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold'em Championship event.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all of the final table updates and live action.
