Hall Doubles Through Kim

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Chris Salomon raised to 13,000 from under the gun, and got calls from Victor Kim in middle position, and Adrianne Hall on the button.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Both Salomon and Kim checked to Hall, and she moved all in for 16,000. Salomon folded, and Kim called.

Hall: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Kim: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

Hall held bottom pair and a gut-shot straight draw, while Kim held second pair and a gut-shot straight draw. Hall was unable to make two pair, as her ten would give Kim a straight.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and the river was the {9-Hearts}. "Yes! A nine!" exclaimed Hall. As she was raking in the pot, a player at the next table said, "Must be nice to run good."

Kim is Never Drawing Slim

Victor Kim
Victor Kim

Victor Kim has been trending upward ever since he burst the bubble earlier today. In a recent hand, Kim limped in from under the gun, and a player in late position moved all in for his last 21,500. Kim thought for a moment and eventually called.

Kim tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, while his opponent showed {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Kim was behind, but not by much. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and a player at the table said to him, "Oh look. You just flopped the nuts."

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and the river was the {3-Diamonds}. Kim scored the pot and yet another knockout.

Eric Lee Makes a Full House

Nível 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Eric Lee has been enjoying himself throughout the day with some beverages while making the players around him miserable and questioning his play. It seems to be working in is favor as his stack has continually grown.

In a recent hand, the flop came {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the big blind checked his option. Lee bet 4,500 and his opponent called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and once again the action was checked to Lee who bet 6,000. Once again his opponent called.

The river landed the {4-Diamonds} and the action was checked to Lee one last time. Lee, aggressively threw out a bet of 40,000 and his opponent called. Lee tabled {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a full house, while his opponent flashed {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Lee clapped his hands and let out a big scream as the dealer pushed the pot his way.

Salomon Swims Upstream

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A big pot was brewing over on table #180, and we caught the action on the river.

With about 100,000 in the pot already, on a board reading {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, the player in the small blind led out for 50,000. Chris Salomon was in the big blind and said, "Fifty thousand? That's most of my stack. I thought I had the best hand on the flop, and then you just bet out on a deuce."

After about a minute of deliberation, Salomon decided to call. "Nice call", said his opponent. Salomon decided to show first and revealed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces with an eight kicker. The small blind mucked, and Salomon took down a massive pot worth over 200,000 chips.

Alex Cordova Finds the Ace from Space

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Pocket aces have been reigning supreme throughout the second half of Day 1 in the first event of the 2017 WSOP. Thus held true for Alex Cordova who found himself way behind his opponent when the cards were turned over.

On the flop of {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, the big blind checked and Cordova bet 13,000 from the button. His opponent moved all-in for 65,000 and Cordova called. His opponent tabled {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades} for two pair while Cordova's {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} would need some help.

Cordova received all the help he would need by spiking the {A-Clubs} on the river sending his opponent to collect his payout money.

Matt Voskuil
Matt Voskuil

Action folded to the cutoff, and he raised to 6,500. Matt Voskuil called on the button, and the player in the big blind moved all in for 20,000. The cutoff folded, and Voskuil tank-called.

Voskuil: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Big blind: {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

"That's it?", asked the big blind. "I'm ahead!" he continued. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and the big blind yelled, "Ace!" as the {3-Clubs} hit the turn.

The river was the {q-Spades} and Voskuil made a pair of queens to eliminate yet another opponent and increase his chip lead.

Edward Ely Shows Off with Quad Aces

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Edward Ely was way ahead of his opponent when he called an all-in bet of 63,000. Ely had {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} vs his opponent's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.
The board put Ely way ahead with a flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

The turn card {3-Clubs} sealed the win for Ely, but just for good measure the {A-Hearts} came on the river giving him quad aces.

Ely wanted to give a shoutout to his mother watching the updates at home!
