Event #65: $1,000 Mini Main Event

Two Players Drawing Chop Pot

• Nível 21: 10,000-25,000, 25,000 ante

With an already inflated pot as the action was caught on the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, the player on the button bet 25,000 and got check-raised to 75,000 by Victor Parades. The raise was called and both players saw the {7-Clubs} on the turn. Parades jammed, putting his opponent all-in for around 210,000.

Parades showed {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw, and was destined to chop when his opponent showed the {k-Spades}{8-Spades}. The {3-Spades} river was meaningless and they chopped it up.

The Great Bubble Survival Story

MikePatrick • Nível 20: 10,000-20,000, 20,000 ante

It seems like there's usually a great story about someone surviving the bubble under crazy circumstances, and the Mini Main Event is no different.

Just four places before the bubble burst, Dan Wagner was all in for his last 5,000 chips with {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} versus Lloyd Fransenmeier's {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. The {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} appeared on the flop and Wagner was in dire straits. A miraculous runout of the {4-Clubs} turn and the {9-Clubs} river came for Wagner to make a flush and survive.

But his peril wasn't done there.

Still, with just 40,000 chips, he was due to be all-in in the big blind on the next hand as play was paused to count the remaining players.

However, before his final few chips had to go in the middle again, the announcement was made that players were now in the money, and Wagner had survived.

Even better still, Wagner survived that all-in and has since quickly spun his stack up to 200,000.

Players Are in the Money

• Nível 20: 10,000-20,000, 20,000 ante

After returning from break the tournament clock read 620 players remaining but that numbered quickly dwindled as the tournament director paused the clock to count players/tables and before hand-for-hand process could begin, players were already in the money.

Kamp Shoves on Mateos

MikePatrick • Nível 19: 8,000-16,000, 16,000 ante

The action picked up on a turn board reading {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}, with approximately 200,000 chips already in the pot.

Adrian Mateos checked to Dannah Kamp who bet 77,000. Mateos called to see a river {9-Diamonds}. Mateos again checked to Kamp, who moved all-in for approximately 250,000.

Mateos quickly folded, awarding the pot to Kamp who has since crossed the 700,000 chip mark as the bubble approaches.

Pocket Aces Gives Tse a Double

• Nível 19: 8,000-16,000, 16,000 ante

PokerNews caught the action on the flop of {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and a player in late position jammed, putting Ron Tse, who was holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, all-in for his 125,000 stack.

Tse was up against {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and watched the remainder of the board run out {k-Spades} and then the {j-Diamonds}, earning him a double up.
