Day 2 action has ended in Event #38: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed at the World Series of Poker with Michael Addamo having nearly half of the chips in play with a stack of 11,475,000. The next closest is Justin Bonomo with 4,975,000, who is followed closely by Erik Seidel with 4,335,000. Joining them for the live-streamed Day 3 action will be Gal Yifrach (3,160,0000), and Chris Hunichen (405,000).

Addamo, who is after his third WSOP bracelet, entered Day 2 with a commanding chip lead and his stack only increased throughout the eight hours of play. The Australian crusher put maximum pressure on his opponents throughout the day and at the final table — perhaps best demonstrated in a hand where Yifrach folded a set of fives on a board of {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades} when facing a shove from the runaway chip leader.

Bin Weng was the last player eliminated on Day 2 when he lost nearly all of his chips by calling off with pocket eights against the pocket nines of Bonomo. Weng was forced all-in in the big blind the next hand and his eight-seven couldn't get ahead of the king-jack of Bonomo.

Leonard Maue, Mustapha Kanit and Sam Soverel all made the nine-handed final table but couldn't make it to the end of the day.

Day 3 action will commence on Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. local time and will be live-streamed by PokerGO. The day will play down to a winner, who will earn a bracelet and a seven-figure cash of $1,132,968.

Will Addamo continue his spectacular high-stakes run and take down Event #38: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed? Stay tuned to find out as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back tomorrow to cover Day 3.

Bin Weng Eliminated in 6th Place ($202,236)

Bin Weng
Bin Weng

Bin Weng lost everything but crumbs when he opened under the gun and called a three-bet jam from Justin Bonomo in the big blind.

Weng had pocket eights and was pipped by the pocket nines of Bonomo and got no help from the runout of {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

The next hand, Weng was forced all-in in the big blind and Michael Addamo opened to 200,000 on the button. Bonomo called in the small blind.

Bonomo and Addamo both checked on the {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and Addamo folded when facing a bet from Bonomo on the {2-Spades} turn.

Justin Bonomo: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Bin Weng: {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {5-Hearts} river left Bonomo with the best hand and Weng was eliminated in sixth place to mark the end of Day 2.

Gal Yifrach

Action folded to Chris Hunichen in the small blind who shoved on the shorter stack Gal Yifrach in the big blind.
Yifrach snap-called to put himself at risk.

Gal Yifrach: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Chris Hunichen: {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The board came {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Spades}, clean for Yifrach and he doubled up. Hunichen was left with just over four big blinds.

"I wish you had ace-queen," said Hunichen. "Anything but aces."

Yifrach Folds Set to Addamo on River

Nível 17 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Gal Yifrach raised to 200,000 on the button and Michael Addamo defended the big blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Addamo check-raised a 125,000 bet up to 375,000. Yifrach called.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}, Addamo led for 860,000, and Yifrach called.

The board completed with the {7-Spades} and Addamo jammed. Yifrach went deep into the tank and moved around his 1,315,000 remaining chips while contemplating his decision. He eventually folded and showed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Addamo took the pot and mucked his cards, leaving Yifrach to only imagine what he had held.

Sam Soverel Eliminated in 7th Place ($157,666)

Nível 17 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

Erik Seidel opened to 200,000 from under-the-gun and Sam Soverel ripped it in from the small blind for just over 2,000,000 and Seidel quickly called.

Sam Soverel: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Erik Seidel: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} giving Soverel a set, but the turn peeled the {j-Diamonds} to give Seidel the broadway straight. The {7-Hearts} fell on the river, not what Soverel needed as he exited the tournament area.
