Day 1 of Event #31: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw at the 2021 World Series of Poker is in the books and Ali Imsirovic leads a returning field of 84 into Saturday’s Day 2. The popular lowball variant attracted a field of 272 runners that generated a prize pool of $363,120. The winner of the three-day event will take home $84,851 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Imsirovic is seeking his first WSOP gold bracelet after a red-hot year on the high roller circuit. The 26-year-old has been making his presence felt all over the poker world in 2021, and he will be looking to add a WSOP gold bracelet to an already world-beating year. Imsirovic has cashed 22 times in his career at the WSOP, and his best finish came as runner-up in the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty in 2019.

Among the other leaders at the end of Day 1 are Melanie Weisner, Matt Vengrin, and two-time WSOP champion Chris Vitch. Vitch started strong and remained among the chip leaders all day, while Weisner came on big in the later levels to bag as one of the top stacks. Vengrin and Weisner are looking for their first WSOP gold bracelet. Reigning champion Yuval Bronshtein will also return to defend his title.

Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth will also be back for Day 2. Both players are on their second entry and they will need to spin it up on Saturday to catch up with the leading group. Hellmuth is looking for his 16th bracelet and Negreanu is chasing his seventh.

Play will restart on Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m. Blind levels continue in Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante. Levels will remain 60 minutes and there will be a dinner break at the end of Level 16.
