Day 1b of Event #17: $1,500 Millionaire Maker has concluded. It attracted a field of 2,762 entries to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, and only 607 bagged up chips for Day 2.

Stephen Song bagged the Millionaire Maker Day 1b chip lead with 431,000. Song already has one bracelet and will be looking for number two in the next couple of days.

Some notable stacks include Maria Konnikova (243,000), Sonia-Veronika Shashikhina (233,000), Asher Conniff (198,000).

The player in the cutoff raised to 4,000. The action folded to Huiwen Liu in the small blind and she raised it up to 16,000. When it folded back to the player in the cutoff he thought for a moment and made the call.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Liu led with a continuation bet of 18,000. The player in the cutoff jammed and Liu snap-called.

Four players headed to the flop of {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and the big blind started with a check. The player on his left tossed in a bet of 1,400 which was called by the hijack. Scott Eskenazi was in the cutoff and also called.

When the action came back to the big blind, he check-raised to 6,000. The other two players quickly folded but Eskenazi moved all in for 28,300. The big blind instantly called and the cards were tabled.

Both players checked to the river which was the {7-Diamonds}. The late position player bet 3,500 and Miles called with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks. The opponent shook his head and said "two pair".

Day 1b of Event #17: $1,500 Millionaire Maker Kicks Off Soon!

Welcome to Day 1b of Event #17: $1,500 Millionaire Maker. Cards go in the air at 10 a.m. PT at the 2021 World Series of Poker for the second of two flights in the popular annual tournament that guarantees $1,000,000 to first place.

John Gorsuch won the WSOP gold bracelet in this event in 2019, beating Kazuki Ikeuchi heads-up to best a field of 8,809 and claim the $1,344,930 first prize.

Day 1a of the 2021 Millionaire Maker drew 2,564 entrants and 567 of them moved on to Day 2. The survivors of Day 1b will join them in a Day 2 that will take place on Sunday, October 10.

Players will start with 25,000 chips. Blinds open at 100/100/100 and will increase every 60 minutes. Players can re-enter once per flight and late registration is open until the end of Level 8. Day 1b will conclude at the end of Level 11.
