The next high-stakes competition during the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events is one step closer to crowning a champion. Out of a field of 255 entries, only nine players remain in Event #21: $25,000 Super High Roller Championship. They have all locked up a portion of the $6,247,500 prize pool already but will have their eyes locked on the top prize of $1,212,033 and the gold bracelet that comes along with it.

Three former WSOP champions are among the finalists and Kahle Burns leads the pack after a late surge on the final two tables, which propelled the stack of the Aussie to 6,447,965. Close behind is China's Wenjie "Jerome001" Huang with a stack of 6,255,063 while there is already a gap to third-placed Alexandros Theologis (4,638,370).

The other two WSOP gold bracelet winners in contention are Mark Radoja and Adrian Mateos, who have 45 and 16 big blinds respectively at their disposal. The Spanish poker prodigy has another shot at a gold bracelet awaiting as he also reached the final four in Event #15: $10,000 Heads Up NLHE Championship, which is currently on break until September 4. In between this duo sits GGPoker Team Russia member Anatoly Filatov, who will return for the final table with 20 big blinds.

Since barely any final table during the ongoing festival so far has concluded without a Brazilian, it seems only fitting that Eduardo "srjtdyfgukh" Silva made the cut. Furthermore, Timothy Nuter and Rui Ferreira completed the line-up as the two shortest stacks or the showdown on August 30, 2021.

Artur Martirosian wrapped up a remarkable Super Sunday with a tenth-place finish. The Russian is currently competing in the Super High Roller Bowl Europe at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and defeated David Peters in Event #6: $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em to claim the $1.4 million top prize. His additional payday of $107,413 in this event would have barely covered the entry in Northern Cyprus and Peters also cashed in 19th place for $66,310.

The Action of the Day

High Roller regulars from all over the world entered the fray as the tournament kicked off with more than 80 players registered. Among them were also the GGPoker ambassadors Daniel Negreanu, Fedor Holz, and Felipe Ramos but all three ultimately failed to reach the final table. Other notables such as Sam Greenwood, Michael Addamo, Daniel Dvoress, Andras Nemeth, Yuri Dzivielevski, and Dario Sammartino all failed to make the cut.

Defending champion Christian Rudolph fell outside of the money and the same fate awaited Justin Bonomo and Juan Pardo, who were on the wrong end of a three-way all-in with Wenjie" Jerome001" Huang.

Once the money bubble had burst, the eliminations came at a rapid pace and Jason Koon was among the first to cash. The final three tables saw the departures of Shyngis Satubayev, Matthias Eibinger, and Benjamin Rolle. In a matter of minutes, only two tables remained as Joao Vieira missed out on another shot at the coveted gold bracelet.

The rise of Burns to the top of the leaderboard started with a big flip against Isaac Haxton, and he knocked out Haxton and Pavel Veksler shortly after to reduce the field to the final 11 contenders. Finland's "sisu" staged a remarkable comeback from five big blinds only to see the hopes of a final table appearance crushed in unfortunate fashion by Mark Radoja. Martirosian then had his pocket queens cracked by the fours of Alexandros Theologi and that ended the proceedings for the night.

To ensure an average of at least 40 big blinds for the final nine, the blinds will be reverted back to 35,000/70,000 with a running ante of 8,500. The final day is scheduled to recommence at 5 pm GMT on Monday, August 30, and the PokerNews team will be back then to provide all key hands until a winner has been crowned.

Artur Martirosian Eliminated in 10th Place ($107,413)

Nível 36 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante
Martirosian vs Theologis
Martirosian vs Theologis

Mark Radoja opened to 240,000 from under the gun and Alexandros Theologis moved all-in from the button for nearly 3.7 million. Artur Martirosian called for the 469,900 he had behind and Radoja got out of the way.

Artur Martirosian: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Alexandros Theologis: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was a sweat with the open-ended straight draw while the {5-Hearts} turn took away some outs for Theologis. Instead of the straight, he spiked the {4-Diamonds} on the river to burst the final table bubble. For Martirosian, an eventful day ends with a 10th place finish, which is worth $107,413.

All chip counts of the nine finalists and a recap of today's action are to follow.

"sisu" Eliminated in 11th Place ($95,211)

Nível 36 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Mark Radoja open-shoved on the button, covering the blinds. "sisu" called from the small blind for his 2,167,500 chips and the big blind folded.

Mark Radoja: {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
"sisu": {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {2-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}, keeping "sisu" ahead. The {9-Diamonds} turn brought "sisu" one card away of continuing his hot run, but it was the devastating {2-Clubs} on the river, giving Radoja trips and eliminating "sisu" close to the final table.
