Guagenti's Fives Are Good

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Stud

Nick Guagenti completed with a king and Denis Strebkov called with a three. Guagenti kept adding Broadway cards to his board and he fired on fourth, fifth, sixth and Strebkov called each time. They checked the river and Guagenti showed he didn't have more than fives, but Strebkov couldn't beat that anyway.

Strebkov: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Guagenti: {x-}{x-}{x-} / {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Negreanu Eliminated by Freedman

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Stud Hi-Lo

Esther Taylor had the bring-in, and Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 2,500. Wendy Freedman called, and Brian Hastings completed the full bet to 6,000. Taylor and Freedman both called.

Fourth and fifth streets checked through, and on sixth, Hastings bet and both Taylor and Freedman called.

Taylor: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} / {x-}
Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts} / {x-}
Freedman: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Hastings: {x-}{x-} / {q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {x-}

On seventh, action checked through and Freedman tabled her {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} for two pair as Hastings and Taylor folded.

Negreanu showed his {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} in the hole and began squeezing his final card.

"This could be my final card of the World Series," Negreanu stated.

Negreanu needed an ace, queen, nine, six, or three to stay alive, but unfortunately he squeezed the {j-Diamonds} and was eliminated in 36th place.

The action was spotted on sixth street with Amnon Filippi standing up as he had already been all in. He was drawing dead on sixth and the river didn't matter as his chips were already guaranteed to gravitate towards Paul Volpe.

Nadell Rivers Three-Outer to Stay, Busts Shortly Thereafter

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Stud

Brian Nadell was all in for peanuts and he was drawing very slim against Wendy Freedman who finished with {k-}{j-}{j-}{j-}{8-}{7-}{6-} for three jacks.

Nadell had {q-}{7-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} out and needed to squeeze a six, and he indeed found the {6-Diamonds} to double.

However, he was still very short with 8,500 and his tournament run came to an end in the following minutes.

Volpe Binks a Straight

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Jordan Siegel raised on his button and Denis Strebkov and Paul Volpe called from the big blind.

All players continued to the turn for one more bet and Volpe bet the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Siegel raised, getting rid of Strebkov, but Volpe called.

The river was the {j-Hearts} and both players checked. Volpe announced a straight, showing {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Siegel sighed, showing he had flopped the top set with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Puchkov: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{2-}{a-}{10-} / {x-}
Javani: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{k-}{7-}{10-} / {x-}

On seventh after Puchkov bet, Javani folded. Puchkov flashed his {4-}{3-} in the hole for a six-low and scooped in the pot.

Owen Goes Uncalled on the River

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Paul Tedeschi raised the cutoff and Adam Owen three-bet the button. Bruno Portaro called in the small blind, as did Tedeschi.

The flop of {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} checked through to reveal the {k-Spades} on the turn. Tedeschi bet, Owen called, and Portaro check-folded.

The river landed the {q-Hearts} and Tedeschi checked. Owen bet 12,000, and Tedeschi thought for over a minute before folding.

Tedeschi Gets Three-Quarters with Nut Nut

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

With action on the {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} turn, Bruno Portaro checked from the big blind and Jim Collopy bet from the cutoff. Paul Tedeschi called on the button and Portaro called as well.

The {2-Spades} hit the river and Collopy fired again. Tedeschi called for his last 11,000, and Portaro called the full bet.

Tedeschi showed the nut low and quads with {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, holding the best possible hand. Collopy had ace-three to chop the low with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Portaro mucked.

"Oh, you had the nut flush draw, too?" Collopy observed that Tedeschi's hand was truly perfect.
