The third day of Event #47: $1,000/$10,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em Championship is in the books with six players remaining and bagging up for the final day of the tournament tomorrow at noon local time.

Leading the way is Tu Dao with a stack of 5,420,000. Dao started Day 3 as the chip leader and managed to bag the chip lead for the final day as well. However, it wasn’t all smooth for Dao. Indeed, she a had a roller coaster of the day and was a shorter stack at some points. She didn't give up and managed to slowly rebuild, winning pot after pot, and eventually climbed her way back up to the lead after eliminating 2018 runner-up Jill Pike in 12th place. Dao flopped top pair against Pike's flopped two pair. But Dao turned a gutshot as well and managed to river a straight to take the rest of Pike’s chips and move into the chip lead again.

Closely trailing Dao is Jiyoung Kim with 5,100,000 in the bag. Kim will be try to claim a title in her first WSOP cash ever. Nancy Matson rounds up the top three with 4,530,000. Matson is the owner of WSOP Circuit ring and will be looking to match it with a WSOP bracelet.

Lyly Vo (1,700,000),Lexy Gavin (1,430,000), and Sandrine Phan (1,185,000) are the other players that are still in contention as well. Gavin is a poker professional with over $75,000 in total earnings on her WSOP resume. She already has four cashes this summer and will try to keep her good run going by taking home her first six-figure score.

The remaining 6 players all have $27,643 locked up but six-place will be no-one's target when play resumes. They will all have their eyes on the first-place prize of $167,308 along with the WSOP bracelet.

Action of the Day

Day 3 saw 43 players returning to the felt out of a field of 968 entries. The bustouts were going at a rapid pace at the beginning with Jenny Ding exiting first, and many big names following her soon after including 2018 third-place finisher Lisa Fong (41st- $3,309), Katie Lindsay (40th place - $3,309), Kathy Liebert (35th place - $3,940), Jackie Glazier (29th place - $3,940) as well as 2017 Runner-Up Deborah Worley-Roberts (21st place - $4,767).

Three levels later, the field was whittled down to just 18 players and the stakes were high as many stars took their seats at the final two tables of the tournament. Natalia Breviglieri (15th place - $7,311), Vanessa Kade (14th place - $7,311), Veronica Brill (13th place - $7,311), Jill Pike (12th place - $9,262) all made it to the final two tables but unfortunately came up short from the final table.

The final table was reached when Margaret Martin three-bet shoved her last three big blinds with king-six after and got called by Sandrine Phan’s ace-nine. Phan made trips and Martin couldn’t make it to the podium.

Play started for the final table at Level 27 and within less than a level, the field was whittled down to only six players.

Barbara Blechinger was the first casualty of the final table in a post flop situation. Blechinger three-bet shoved with ace-king after turning top pair and Jiyoung Kim called with her flopped two pair. The river bricked and that was it for Blechinger’s run.

Stephanie Hubbard was next to go. Hubbard check-raised all in on the turn with ace-queen suited from the small blind with top pair and got snap-called by Matson’s full house.

Raylene Celaya was the last elimination of the day in 7th place when she three-bet shoved her last fifteen bigs with queens from the button only to be see Jiyoung Kim’s kings under the gun. The board was of no help to Celaya and she headed to the payout desk.

The remaining six will play on Day 4 until a champion is crowned and play will resume with 15 minutes remaining at Level 27 with blinds of 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 ante.
