Jason Acosta Leads the Pack in $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.

Day 2 of Event #14: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. has reached it end. Jason Acosta (754,000) will go into Day 3 as the chip leader, and the field is down to 28 players, with play set to restart Friday at 12 p.m.
Acosta will continue to Day 3 along with other large stacks, such as Jason Stockfish (696,000), Sergey Atlbregin (485,000), Danny Woolard (434,000), Valentin Vornicu (421,000), and Gary Kosakowski (417,000).
Bradley Smith (123,000), who finished third in this event last year, made it through to Day 2, along with other notable players Chris Klodnicki (323,000), Phillip Hui (316,000), Yueqi Zhu (288,000), and Ron Ware (282,000).
The day began with 291 players out of the original field of 751, and 113 of those players finished in the money to guarantee themselves a min-cash of at least $2,253. Notable players that made the money, but didn’t make it to the end of Day 2, included Jimmy Fricke ($2,253), Scott Bohlman ($2,328), and World Poker Tour Executive Tour Director Matt Savage ($2,889). Chris Tryba ($4,232) busted out in the final level of the night, cashing in this event for the fifth consecutive year.
WSOP bracelet winners finishing in the money included six-time bracelet winner Chris “Jesus” Ferguson ($2,328), along with David “ODB” Baker ($2,328), David Brookshire ($3,666), and David Bach ($4,242), who won the $50K H.O.R.S.E. World Championship at the WSOP in 2009.
Other Day 2 players that finished short of the money included six-time bracelet winner Jeff Lisandro, and a pair of three-time bracelet winners in John Monnette and Rep Porter.
All players returning for Day 3 will cash in for at least $4,997. The field will play 60-minute levels and play down to six players Friday, with the final table restart commencing Saturday at 12 p.m. Those six players will battle for the bracelet and the $207,003 first prize!
