Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A total of 189 runners began Day 2 of Event #20: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em, adding 19 more players during the late registration period that was open until the tournament resumed at 2pm on Saturday, 9 June. The tournament brought in a total of 518 entries and generated a hardy $2,408,700 prize pool.

After the last chance saloon had closed for business it was Chris Bolek that had bagged the chip lead with an impressive 1,129,000 and is in the best of positions to take down the $537,710 top prize and coveted bracelet.

Bolek stayed around average for most of the day and started to stack up after the last break. The three table redraw was the highlight of his day when he got into a hand with Martin Mathis who moved all in on the turn into Bolek's flopped set. After that hand Bolek moved into first and never looked back. The 2017 $1,500 No Limit Hold'em-Bounty Champion will be looking to secure his second bracelet.

It was on level 16 when Matthew Parry was eliminated in 79th place on the money bubble by Kristin Bicknell. Parry moved all in under the gun with ace-jack and ran into Bicknell's aces. Once the money bubble busted all the remaining players were guaranteed $7,435, with a final table finish getting at least $34,862.

There were a lot of well know players that made the money but could not survive long enough to move on to Day 3. They had a jewelry box full of bracelets between them and these decorated individuals included Justin Bonomo (29th-$12,331), Bryn Kenney (40th-$10,659), Brian Yoon (47th Place-$9,417), Humberto Brenes (57th Place-$8,506), Erik Seidel (64th-$7,860), Tom Cannuli (65th-$7,860), and Ben Yu (75th-$7,435).

There is a large contingent of notable players moving on to Day 3 and that list includes Seth Davies (812,000), Jake Shindler (926,000), Shawn Buchanan (846,000), Arne Ruge (166,000), Stephen Chidwick (164,000), and two-time bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell (106,000).

Action will resume at 2pm local time on Sunday, 10 June, where players will return to play another ten 60-minute levels with a 15-minute break every two levels. Blinds will resume at 6,000/12,000 with an ante of 12,000.

Dominik Nitsche Eliminated in 26th Place ($14,572)

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

In one of the last hands of the night, Dominik Nitsche opened to 20,000 and Patrick Truong three-bet to 55,000 directly to his left. The action folded back to Nitsche who moved all in for around 270,000 and Truong instantly called.

Patrick Truong: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Dominik Nitsche: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Truong was still in the lead with a pair of kings. The turn was the {a-Hearts}, giving Nitsche the best hand, but the {k-Spades} on the river reversed that as Truong made a set of kings.

The players are now bagging up their chips to return for Day 3 tomorrow. A recap and full chip counts will be posted shortly.

Peters Does Everyone a Favor

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters opened from the cutoff and Justin Bonomo called from the small blind. The big blind stuck around as well and the flop came down {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Action checked to Peters who then bet 26,000 and Bonomo quickly moved all in. Action folded back to Peters who snapped him off. Peters tabled {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines and Bonomo showed {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a straight draw.

The turn fell the {a-Hearts} and Bonomo would need to get lucky on the river, but failed to do so when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the felt. Peters took down the pot and maybe even more exciting to the rest of the field, he eliminated the hottest running player in the world.

Sick Run Out for Kenney

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

The action folded to Jan Christoph Von Halle in middle position who shoved all in for 108,000. Bryn Kenney called from the cutoff and the two hands were tabled. Kenney was in a dominating position with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against Von Halle's {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Kenney was in prime position to score the knockout. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave Von Halle a pair of kings and the {k-Hearts} on the river improved him to trip kings. The table was in shock with the runout and Kenney was left with just 6,500 chips.

In the very next hand, Von Halle was faced with a raise to 12,000 from early position and he three-bet to 42,000. Kenney stuck in his last few chips and the initial raiser called as well. The flop fell {10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Von Halle bet 64,000, forcing his opponent out of the pot. Kenney turned over {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Von Halle held {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. The board ran out two more hearts and Von Halle made a flush to eliminate Kenney.
