How Kuo Got to Big Piles

Nível 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

Thanks to dealer Jeff, we were told the details of a hand that saw Kitty Kuo sky-rocket to a potential overall chip lead. Apparently, things unfolded in the following order:

Kitty Kuo three-bet to 5,000 with {K-}{10-} against a player who held aces. He called and the flop fell {K-}{10-}{8-} where Kuo fired 7,000, earning another call. The turn was a {5-} and Kuo fired a big second barrel of 35,000. Her opponent shoved for about 30,000 more and Kuo had no trouble calling with top two. A blank river locked it up for her.

Jaka Building Up

Nível 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

Catching up on the turn there was about 8,400 already in the pot with the board showing {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and Faraz Jaka's only opponent had checked over to him. Jaka put out a bet of 6,500 and his opponent called.

The river was the {4-Clubs} which prompted a check from both players. Jaka's opponent showed {8-Hearts}{6-Spades} for one pair, but Jaka had him beat with {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a better pair. That allowed him to take down the pot and move over 60,000 chips.

Moorman Can't Fade a Club River

Nível 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

On the {5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop, Chris Moorman was in the cutoff, betting 500 in the pot. His opponent check-raised out of the big blind, making it 3,000. Moorman called.

The turn came {9-Clubs} and Moorman faced a bet of 5,500. He eyed his opponent's stack and made a gesture, interpreted as a request for a clear view of the remaining chips. Then he raised to 12,000.

The chips went into the middle as Moorman's opponent shoved for 25,900 and Moorman called after a quick double-check of his holdings.

Moorman was ahead with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a turned straight, but his rival was drawing live with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Moorman had to dodge a club card on the river, but the dealer didn't allow him as the {4-Clubs} completed the board.

Moorman took a hit to his stack and continued with 14,500.

Hallaert Can't Be Stopped

Nível 7 : 300/500, 500 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Kenny Hallaert opened from middle position and he was called by Pete Chen to his direct left. Action folded around where both blinds called.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} and both players checked to Hallaert. Hallaert put out a bet of 2,500 which only Chen called.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Hallaert slowed down with a check. Chen put out a bet of 6,500 and Hallaert called.

Both players decided to check on the {3-Spades} river. Hallaert showed {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker and that would earn him the pot when Chen mucked.

With that pot, Hallaert is now over 100,000 chips while Chen slipped to just over 15,000.

Hata Wakes Up with a Cold Four

Nível 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

Aymon Hata and Niall Farrell are sitting next to each other and if there are such high-profile players stacked in neighboring positions, it usually doesn't take long until they get into a war when the button rolls around.

It was the case of the following hand as Farrell had the button, reraising his right-hand opponent's raise of 1,100 to 3,500. Hata, however, woke up with a cold four-bet in the small blind, making it 9,200. Two quick folds followed and Hata won the hand preflop.

Merson Surpasses a Hundo

Nível 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Greg Merson
Greg Merson

Three-way on the {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop, Dominik Nitsche was in the big blind calling a 3,700-bet from a player in the small blind. The dealer pulled their bets into the pot but Nitsche reminded him that there was yet another player to act: the 2012 World Champion Greg Merson.

Merson raised to 9,700, the small blind shoved all in for roughly 27,000 and Nitsche quickly escaped. Merson immediately called, having flopped the bottom set with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. He was up against {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and dodged the bullets on the {Q-Diamonds} and {6-Clubs} runout, eliminating his opponent and stacking a large chunk of chips.

Merson is now sitting on 110,000, guarding one of the healthiest stacks in the room.
