Out w 5 hands to go in the night. Maybe the most frustrating day of poker I've ever played. Last hand I lost w AK to Kq in 40K pot. BrutalFollow @PeterAlson

Just before the break, we caught a hand where Liv Boeree lost a solid portion of her chips. In the hand, a middle position player raised to 1,000 and Boeree came over the top for 2,100 total. Her opponent called and the flop came down 
. Action checked to the raiser and Boeree fired out a continuation of 2,000. Her opponent called, allowing the 
to drop down on the turn. Boeree's opponent check again, she bet 3,600, and he tossed out a call.
The 
finished the board on the river and action checked Boeree's way one last time. She cut out a bet of 11,000 and her opponent called, tabling 
for ace-high. Boeree flashed 
before her cards were pulled into the muck.
During the break, she took to twitter regarding the hand.
Managed to find possibly worst guy in the tourney to 3/b & empty the clip into. Doh. 11k going into 200/400.Follow @Liv_Boeree
Boeree now sits right around 11,000 in chips.

Joseph Cheong, who finished third in the 2010 WSOP Main Event, has crashed out of the 20014 edition on Day 1. We didn't catch the hand, but thanks to the beauty of Twitter, we can bring you an update as to what happened to Cheong.
A little more investigation reveals that Cheong's executioner was Jonathan Tamayo who now has 95,000.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is one of the best tournament players in the world, but even the great Frenchman sometimes struggles to overcome the variance of tournament poker.
We noticed Grospellier's seat was open and asked what had happened. Grospellier had raised with 
over the top of a raise and a couple of callers, then the chips went flying into the middle on an 
flop, only for Grospellier's opponent to show . No helped arrived for Grospellier on the turn or river and he busted out before the dinner break.

Brandon "oncommand" Meyers checked to an opponent on a flop of 
, and he tossed out 1,200. Meyers put in a check-raise, making it 4,000 to go, and his opponent tank-called.
The turn was the 
, Meyers led out for 9,000, and the player went deep into the tank. He eventually flicked his cards into the muck, and Meyers was pushed the pot.
