Dia 2 Terminado

Day 2 Complete With Schindler and Olisar Leading

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Jacob Schindler
Jacob Schindler

We began Day 2 with 205 players and reached the money in the fourth level of play. When all was said and done, we were down to our final 26.

The end-of-day chip leader was Jacob Schindler (711,000) who increased his stack almost ten-fold in the last four levels of play.

Daniel Makowsky and James Mackey came into the day as our chip leaders, but bust in 101st and 87th place respectively. Some notable players that made the money, but fell short of Day 3, included Barny Boatman (75th), Dan O’Brien (55th), Jesse Sylvia (52nd), Keven Stammen (49th) and James Dempsey (44th).

Hot on Schindler’s heels is Ryan Olisar (686,000) who scored a huge double up through Matthew Lapossie. Lapossie would recover though and his active play has him positioned 4th in chips (623,000). We will also keep an eye on Ryan Jaconetti who was also very active here on Day 2 and is stacked third in chips at 663,000.

Notables Dylan Linde, Layne Flack and Matt Affleck also survived the day and will be looking to run deep into Day 3.

We will be back at it tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time as the 26 remaining players will have their eye on WSOP gold and a first place prize of $548,460. Please join us tomorrow for complete Day 3 action.

Out Flopping Flack

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Layne Flack
Layne Flack

Takashi Yagura has been quietly and steadily been growing his stack and it looks like he has taken a fair bit from Layne Flack to his left if the last hand we witnessed is anything to go by.

Yagura raised to 17,000 and Flack was his only caller. “You can raise.” Yagura said and Flack jokingly put some extra chips out before taking them back.

They saw a heads up flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}. Yagura bet 25,000 and Flack made the call. The turn card was the {6-Hearts}.

Yagura quietly said, “Check.”

“What? Alright I check.” Flack responded loudly with a grin,

The river was the {8-Spades} and Yagura checked again. Flack put out a bet of 44,000 and Yagura went through a bag of tricks with his chips to get a reaction but Flack sat still. Yagura made the call though and Flack turned up {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Yagura scooped the pot with {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

“You out flop me every time.” said Flack

Sion Loses One to Lapossie

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Nam Le was first to act under the gun and he chose to fold. No sooner were Le's cards in the muck Sion had raised to 16,000. Matthew Lapossie called in the small blind and Brian Pinkus called in the big blind.

The players in the blinds checked the arrival of the {2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, Sion made a continuation bet of 22,000 and only Lapossie called. Both active players checked the {8-Clubs} turn and the {5-Clubs} river, Sion mucking when he saw the {5-Spades}{3-Spades} of Lapossie.

Cajelais Shoves on Flack

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Layne Flack opened for 18,000 and it folded round to Erik Cajelais in the big blind who pushed all his chips forward. Flack threw his hand away pretty quickly but shot Cajelais a look and told him, “I know you have nothing.”

Cajelais remained tight lipped and relatively short stacked, but it was enough to get Flack to fold.

Lapossie Playing Without Fear

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Matthew Lapossie has slipped back a little more after he three bet to 37,000 and opted to call a four-bet of 79,000 to see a flop in position.

The cards came out {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Lapossie laid it down when he was faced with a bet of 80,000.

Lapossie has had a very swingy day but he has showed time and again that he is not afraid to play big pots and although it didn’t pay off on this occasion it is unlikely to deter him.
