Level eight has ended and the players sent on their final break of the night. When they return they will play two more levels before bagging up their chips and heading into the warm Las Vegas night.
A player raised from early position to 1,200 and Phil Ivey made the call from late position. The flop came down and Ivey's opponent bet 1,200. Ivey put in a raise to 3,600 and his opponent folded.
Ivey has two more levels tonight to try to run it up to something a little more comfortable.

Two-time World Poker Tour champion Marvin Rettenmaier plays a wide range of hands preflop and as a result often gets paid off handsomely when he has a legitimate big hand.
That wasn't the case a short while ago because when the action folded to Rettenmaier on the button, he made a raise to 1,200 and must have been praying for either of the blinds to defend. But both blinds folded, leaving Rettenmaier to show his and pick up the 900 chips from the pot.
Mark Smith, Eric "Basebaldy" Baldwin and David "ODB" Baker have all busted from the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em event, Baker's exit being particularly painful as he grinded his stack up to a high point of 26,000 at one point.

James Woods opened to 1,500 from late position and Paul Varano three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind. Woods potted, putting him all in for 11,000 and Varano made the call. It was the of Varano versus the of Woods and the board ran out for the double.
On the very next hand, however, Woods would give back approximately 8,000 as his pocket queens were picked off by the of his opponent in the big blind, after getting it in on a flop. Woods couldn't find any help on the turn or river and his opponent doubled.
