Lady for a Lady

Amanda Musumeci
Amanda Musumeci

The action folded to Jonathan Seelbach who raised to 75,000 from the small blind. Amanda Musumeci moved all in for 565,000 from the big blind, and Howe quickly called.

Showdown
Seelbach: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Musumeci: {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}

"Lady for a lady!" one of Musumeci's supporters shouted from the rail.

The dealer obliged, fanning {4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Musumeci took the lead, but the {3-Clubs} on the turn gave Seelbach a flush draw. After a pause to capture the board and reaction shots, the cameras tapped the dealer on the shoulder, signaling her to deal the river. The {q-Hearts} fell to give Musumeci a full house.

She doubled to 1.166 million chips, while Howe slipped to 530,000.

Albertini Up, Mekani On the Rocks

We're not sure exactly how it happened -- likely a preflop all in -- but Stephane Albertini has just collected Tahsyn Mekani's bounty and the rest of his chips.

Mekani got his short stack in with , and Albertini's had him pipped. The board ran through , and Albertini's pair was bigger than Mekani's. That's the end of the road for another player, and a satisfied Mekani has gone to the payout desk to pick up more than $60,000.

Albertini is up to 4.3 million, and he's got his own personal cheering section as the French media swarm around him like bees.

Demers Busts Meyvis

Nathan Meyvis
Nathan Meyvis

We're not sure of how the money got all in, but Nathan Meyvis committed his last 378,000 and was at risk against Gionni Demers.

Showdown
Demers: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Meyvis: {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{6-Spades} flop wasn't much help to Meyvis, but the {K-Clubs} turn did give him an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the {7-Hearts} blanked on the river and he was eliminated from the Main Event. Demers is up to 1.4 million.

I Dare You, I Double Dare You

Back over on the feature table, the action folded around to Mario Silvestri who raised to 60,000 from the button before the flop. Christian Harder folded his small blind, then Phil Collins shoved over the top from the big blind holding {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Silvestri committed the rest of his stack into the middle, electing to flip for his tournament life with {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. As it turned out, it worked - the board was spread {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Hearts} - and Silvestri doubled up to more than 1.6 million. Collins shrugged it off - after all, he's still got nine million and change.

More Hands for Moore

Nível 24 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

Christopher Moore open-raised all in for his last 572,000 from middle position, and it folded around to Claudia Crawford in the big blind. She tanked for more than a minute, then finally set out a stack of chips to call.

When Moore tabled his hand -- {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} -- Crawford winced, then showed her {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. "He doesn't have to have ace-king there," she told her neighbor as all waited for the cameras to come into place. "He could have ace-jack, ace-ten, pairs."

Finally ready, the dealer delivered the flop {2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The {10-Spades} on the turn then provided an extra sweat for Moore, but the {2-Hearts} fell on the river and he survived to play on. Moore now has about 1.15 million, while Crawford still has 2.3 million.

"Ace-high," Bonding announced.

Tuvey rolled over {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens, Bonding mucked, and Tuvey pulled in the pot.

Sick River Sends Mizzi to the Rail

Sorel Mizzi gets rivered
Sorel Mizzi gets rivered

On a flop of {6-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Sorel Mizzi bet 200,000 from the big blind and received a call from Aleksandr Mozhnyakov in middle position. When the {A-Spades} appeared on the turn, Mizzi bet 335,000, Mozhnyakov moved all in, and Mizzi called off for an additional 700,000.

Showdown
Mizzi: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Mozhnyakov: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Mizzi had flopped a full house and was ahead of Mozhnyakov's trips. Mizzi needed to dodge a nine, jack, and ace on the river to survive, but the {A-Hearts} peeled off to put a dagger through his heart. Just like that, Mizzi was eliminated from the tournament in 95th place ($64,531).
