Maciukas Squeezes

After a player opened to 17,000 from middle position, Garry "Beast Mode" Gates called from the cutoff seat. On the button was Marius Maciukas from Lithuania. He reraised and made it 53,000. The original raiser quickly folded, but Gates didn't go away as fast. In fact, Gates sat and stared directly at Maciukas for a bit. Maciukas was seated in the seat right next to Gates on the left and he sat motionless. Eventually, gates pushed his hand to the right and into the muck to give Maciukas the pot.

New High for Negreanu

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We caught up with this one on the turn with the board showing {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Daniel Negreanu, sitting in middle position, had 37,000 in front of him, and his lone opponent sitting in the big blind was making the call. The river brought the {6-Hearts} and a check from Negreanu's opponent. Negreanu fired a bet of 48,000, and his opponent immediately called again.

"Flush," said Negreanu, showing his {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and his opponent mucked. Negreanu stepped away from the table to allow himself a bit of celebration. "I've got more chips now than I've ever had… Yes!" he said, alluding to his frequent short-stacked status thus far in the Main Event.

Negreanu is still below the average, but his stack of 330,000 looks just fine to him at the moment.

Ladouceur Falling

Marc-Andre Ladouceur
Marc-Andre Ladouceur

Marc-Andre Ladouceur fired 26,000 on the {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} after Jordan Rich had checked to him. Rich then check-raised to 68,000. Ladouceur made the call.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Rich fired 125,000. Ladouceur called to see the {4-Hearts} fall on the river. Both players then checked. Rich tabled the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for two pair and Ladouceur mucked.

Losing that pot knocked Ladouceur down to right around one million. He then lost the next hand and slipped even further to about 875,000.

Barnhart Makes Big Fold?

Sam Barnhart raised to 18,000 preflop and Guillaume Darcourt flat-called in the big blind to see a {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. Darcourt then check-raised Barnhart's 30,000 bet to 74,000 only for the latter to then reraise to 230,000. Darcourt then brought out a four-bet to 445,000 and Barnhart began to tank for about five minutes before folding, presumably, a very big hand.

It's difficult to get accurate counts at the moment so the above ones are only approximate,

Brecher Binks an Ace

Steve Brecher opened the action by raising to 20,000 preflop. His opponent made the call and they saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Brecher continued out for 55,000 and his opponent raised to 125,000. Brecher wasn't deterred by this bet, however, and instead decided to move all in. His opponent quickly made the call.

Brecher: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

Brecher hit one of his many outs when fourth street came {A-Clubs}. He kept the lead when the {3-Hearts} rivered and sent his opponent to the rail, boosting his stack to 700,000 in the process.

Lellouche Lays it Down

We caught up with the action on a {Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop where it was checked to the button who bet 41,000. Leif Force who was in middle position check-called and Antony Lellouche then check-raised to 102,000 total. The button made the call and Force quickly folded.

When the {10-Hearts} hit the turn, Lellouche checked again and his opponent shoved. Lellouche snap-folded to give the button the pot.

Viswanathan Wanna More Chips

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

An early position player raised to 18,000 and it folded around to Aaron Ruppert on the button who called. The small blind stepped aside, and Manoj Viswanathan -- still busy ordering his massive chip stack after a recent table move -- called as well from the big blind.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. It checked around to Ruppert who bet 28,000, and both of Ruppert's opponents called. The turn brought the {6-Spades}. This time Viswanathan led with a bet of 100,000, and only Ruppert called.

The river was the {10-Hearts}. Viswanathan reached into his pile of chips and plucked out enough for a bet of 300,000, sending Ruppert deep into the tank. Finally he emerged, having convinced himself to let the hand go.

The rich get richer. Viswanathan sits with 2.27 million now -- the biggest stack in the Amazon Room at the moment -- while Ruppert presently has 510,000.

One Out? No Problem

A player in middle position opened, David Vamplew three-bet shoved for 145,000 from the blinds, and his opponent quickly called.

Opponent: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Vamplew: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Vamplew was in bad shape, and the {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} flop left him with just one out. The turn was a tiny diamond, but the {3-Diamonds} changed nothing. Vamplew was down to his last card, and the {2-Diamonds} slammed on the river to give him a winning set.

Vamplew had one foot out the door, and new he's up above 300,000 chips.
