Italiano Climbing with Aces

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Ang Italiano
Ang Italiano

Stephen Putsey opened the hijack to 4,000 and Ang Italiano flatted on the button before Francesco Ferraro three-bet the big blind to 15,000. Putsey folded, but Italiano insta-shoved all in for 81,100 total as Ferraro went into the tank before eventually making the call.

Ferraro: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Italiano: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

With Italiano in commanding shape to double, the {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board ensured Italiano scooped a monster pot to climb to 170,000 as Ferraro slipped to roughly 56,000.

Leas Takes One

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Oliver Gill raised to 3,200 from under the gun, and Brendon Rubie called from middle position. David Leas called from the hijack seat, and then Aaron Lim called out of the big blind to see the flop come down {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Lim and Gill checked, then Rubie bet 6,300. Leas called, Lim folded, and Gill called.

The turn was the {Q-Spades}, and all three players checked to see the {7-Clubs} pair the board on the river. All three players checked again.

Rubie showed the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, but then Leas showed the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Gill mucked, and it was Leas' hand that was the winner.

Kassela Busts Little

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jonathan Little checked the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop to Frank Kassela, and he bet 4,000. Little check-raised to 11,000, and Kassela made the call to see the {4-Spades} land on the turn. Little bet 18,000, and Kassela immediately moved all in. Little had approximately 30,000 behind and tanked before calling it off with the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a combo draw. Kassela had bottom pair with the {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The river completed the board with the {A-Clubs}, and Little was eliminated. Kassela increased to 255,000 in chips.

No More Hachem

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Team Hachem
Team Hachem

Joe and Tony Hachem already got knocked out rather early today, thus Anthony was the last hope for a cash in the Main Event. Unfortunately, his short-stack ride came to an end with pocket tens against the {K-} {J-} of Yu Kurita. The Six-Max finalist from Japan found a jack on the turn to score a vital boost to her stack.

Steicke Gets Himself in a Sticky Situation

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

"All in and a call Table 31," a dealer shouted. We made our way over to discover that David Steicke had gotten his stack of 40,000 or so all in on a {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop against Henry Szmelcer.

Steicke: {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Szmelcer: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Steicke went with his flush draw, but little did he know he was in big trouble as Szmelcer held a bigger flush draw with a pair. The {4-Diamonds} turn completed the said flushes, but of course Szmelcer's was best. The {5-Spades} river was put out on the river, and Steicke wished the table luck, packed up his things, and then exited the tournament area.

Meanwhile, Jason Sole was eliminated when his {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} failed to improve against Dejan Boskovic's {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Gill Gets There to Crack Rubie's Aces

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Oliver Gill
Oliver Gill

Oliver Gill opened with a raise from the button and then called when Brendon Rubie three-bet from the big blind. The {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop saw Rubie bet, Gill shove for roughly 68,000, and Rubie call.

Rubie: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Gill: {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Rubie held the big pocket pair, but Gill was drawing very much alive with middle pair and an open-ended straight draw. Much to Rubie's dismay, the {6-Hearts} turn gave Gill the lead with trip sixes. The {2-Clubs} river wasn't the ace Rubie needed, and he sent a good portion of his chips across the table to a grinning Gill.

"Is That All?"

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A short-stacked Eric Assadourian got his last 13,700 all in preflop and was up against Joh Thompson.

Assadourian: {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Thompson: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

"Is that all?" Assadourian joked when the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} flop gave Thompson a flush. Assadourian needed running cards to make a full house, but the {6-Spades} turn took away any shot at that happening. The meaningless {3-Spades} was put out on the river for good measure and Assadourian wished the table luck before exiting the tournament.
