Loo Captures Chip Lead Before the Break

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

In one of the final hands before the break, Junzhong Loo won a giant pot to rocket into the chip lead.

The action started with Tim O’Shea opening to 5,000 from under the gun. Junzhong Loo then bumped it up to 13,000 from late position as the decision fell back on O’Shea. He called.

The flop came down {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and O’Shea checked. Loo reached for chips and slid out 9,000. It wasn’t long before O’Shea announced all in, just short of 100,000 in chips. The large bet had Loo covered, who thought about his decision for a minute. He finally made the call and both players tabled their cards.

O’Shea: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Loo: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Loo had made an impressive call, finding himself in front with his ace high against O’Shea’s flush draw. Loo would then watch as the {6-Clubs} and {10-Spades} completed the board to see him take down the pot with his ace-high and see O’Shea drop down to 20,000 in chips.

Sclavos Doubles Through Heimiller

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Eric Sclavos moved all in for his remaining 11,200 from under the gun plus one. The action folded around to Dan Heimiller on the button who instantly committed a large stack of 1,000-chips. The blinds got out of the way and both players then tabled their cards.

Heimiller: {J-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Sclavos: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Sclavos would need some help and that’s exactly what the dealer delivered as the board ran out {2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The pair of aces would take down the pot for Sclavos who now sits on 28,000 in chips.
