44 Players Ready for Day 2 of $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl

Welcome back to the ARIA Resort & Casino for Day 2 of the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl!

Sunday saw 56 players take to the felt battling it out in an effort to become the third ever Super High Roller Bowl Champion. The action was intense from the get-go as chips flung across the felt and people traded places continually on the chip leaderboard. However, like every tournament, players found themselves on the rail early as it would be the feature table on the main stage that became the tournament of death as it firstly lost Haralabos Voulgaris, then Ben Tollerene, and finally Phil Hellmuth.

Joining those three on the rail as one of the 12 eliminated players on Day 1 included John Juanda, Brandon Steven, Ankush Mandavia, Bill Perkins, Igor Kurganov, Erik Seidel, and Ben Sulsky. For Kurganov, his elimination would set in place the end-of-day chip leader as Kurganov turned top two pair but Byron Kaverman would river the second nut straight. Kaverman bet the river, Kurganov raised, and Kaverman put the high roller regular all-in before the Russian eventually made the call and was sent to the rail as Kaverman crept over the one million chip mark. Once the dust settled, Kaverman would end the day with 1,247,000 in chips to be more than a starting stack clear of his nearest rival.

That rival would be Leon Tsoukernik who accumulated chips constantly throughout the day to end with 912,000 while Fedor Holz bagged an equally impressive 803,000 while battling one of the tougher tables of the tournament. Cary Katz (677,000), Jake Schindler (648,500), Justin Bonomo (620,500), and Jason Mercier (605,000) were the only other players that managed to double their starting stack at day's end.

One of the biggest stories of this 2017 Super High Roller Bowl is the appearance of one of the most successful comedians, writers, producers, and movie stars of our generation in Kevin Hart. Hart was the star attraction on the feature table throughout the day and wasn't afraid to mix it up with the likes of Bonomo, Katz, and Bryn Kenney. Most notably however he managed to eliminate Phil Hellmuth in an ugly set-over-set confrontation on the flop before he ended the day with 298,500. Hart's highlight of Day 1? Once he eliminated Hellmuth he rushed to the edge of the feature table stage and bellowed, "I bust Phil! Everybody I bust Phil out! It was me. I did the damage!"

44 players are returning for Day 2 and they'll all have eyes on snatching a piece of that $16,800,000 prize pool and the $6,000,000 first prize. Like yesterday, players will have to endure seven levels of play before bagging and tagging for the night with play expected to finish around 11:00 p.m. (PST) barring any tournament or production delays.

The cards are expected to be in the air at 1:00 p.m. (PST) with the PokerNews Live Reporting Team providing continuous live updates of all the Super High Roller Bowl action live from the ARIA Resort & Casino. Stay tuned right here to PokerNews.com as we write the path of the next Super High Roller Bowl Champion as they navigate one of the toughest tournament fields ever assembled!
