Drinan in Hunt for Another SCOOP Title After Record 2020 Series

Nível 31 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Connor Drinan
Connor Drinan

It almost counts as an upset that Connor "blanconegro" Drinan has failed to bring home a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker title in 2021 after he rampaged to a record five crowns in 2020.

That could change after Day 2 of SCOOP-93-M: $1,050 PLO [6-Max, PLO Main Event], $750K Gtd.

With 18 of 935 entries left in the hunt, Drinan is among them, and he has secured a pretty big stack with 8,758,358, ranking third behind Ramon "ZéDoBlefe11" Sorgatto (15,437,916) and Tyler "Juicy_J_93" Jardine (9,952,887).

In addition to the notables above, others making it through included former EPT Prague champ Julian "jutrack" Track, Thiago "KKremate" Crema, Jan "Tagult" Collado and Espen "locomi" Myrmo. The latter two have the shortest stacks and will be under 20 big blinds when play resumes at 50,000/100,000 for Day 3.

Some of those cashing among the 119 paid places but missing out on Day 3 included Eelis "EEE27" Parssinen, Francisco "Tomatee" Benitez, Ole "wizowizo" Schemion, Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress, Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, and Patrick "pads1161" Leonard.

Day 3 will see play resume at 1:05 p.m. EDT and action continue until a winner has emerged to lay claim to $153,356 in first-place prize money. Come back to PokerNews then to follow this event once more.

Tr!pleeeee Eliminated on Day 3 Bubble

Nível 31 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Ramon "ZéDoBlefe11" Sorgatto opened for 240,000 under the gun and "Tr!pleeeee" potted to 840,000 on the button. Sorgatto called and checked the {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop. Tr!pleeeee stuck in the last 752,334 and was quickly called.

Tr!pleeeee: {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Sorgatto: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}

Sorgatto had an enormous hand with the nuts plus two redraw but still had to fade some cards. The {4-Hearts} and {7-Diamonds} were just fine for him.

That means the final 18 players have secured spots in Day 3.

Two KOs for Drinan

Nível 31 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante
Connor Drinan
Connor Drinan

Jonah "RaiseUpBlind" Silverstein opened for pot on the button and called off for 740K total when Connor "blanconegro" Drinan repotted in the big blind.

Drinan: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Silverstein: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Drinan had slightly the best of it and Silverstein failed to improve on the community cards.

Then, Drinan was the under-the-gun opener calling the shove of "Ticiz" in the small blind for about 671K.

Ticiz: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Drinan: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Drinan paired his six on the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and his ten on the {10-Hearts}. Ticiz was left with zero pairs and a bustout on the {3-Hearts} river.

"magiet12" Bubbles

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Down to 21K under the gun, "magiet12" shoved and Connor "blanconegro" Drinan repotted to iso from the small blind.

magiet12: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Drinan: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

magiet12 kept the best hand on the {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Hearts} but had a lot of cards to fade. The {10-Hearts} rendered them dead on the turn.

Two other players went bust, but entering the hands with more chips than magiet12, they left that player empty-handed in 120th.

Verbakel: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
