Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski Wins Another WCOOP Title in the PokerStars WCOOP-48-H: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Sunday Slam] for $245,535

Nível 34 : 250,000/500,000, 62,500 ante
Yuri Dzivielevski
Yuri Dzivielevski

Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski just made it three in 2020 by taking down the PokerStars WCOOP-48-H: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Sunday Slam] for $245,535 which included $118,125 in bounties for his fourth title. The tournament originally had a $1,000,000 guarantee set but with 192 unique players reentering 75 times, a prize pool of $1,335,000 had been created with 34 players cashing.

With previous wins in WCOOP 09-H: $1,050 NL 2-7 Single Draw, $75K Gtd for $21,938 and WCOOP 20-H: $1,050 HORSE, $100K Gtd for $31,115, this is the first NLHE title for Dzivielevski as he also won WCOOP-51: $1,050 PL Omaha Hi/Lo Championship [6-Max] back in 2015 for $59,840. But it's not his biggest though as he came in second place in 2014 for $1,253,070 in the WCOOP-66: $5,200 NL Hold'em Main Event behind Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz after agreeing to a six-handed deal.

Dzivielevski defeated Brunno "botteonpoker" Botteon heads-up on a star-studded final table which also featured Jakob "Succeeed" Miegel, Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov, Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank, Fabio "LFFF22" Freitas, Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi, "boerni21", and Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker.

Fast Paced Action to Start the Day

There were only nine minutes left in Level 21 when the tournament started but six players busted during that short time. By the time the first break rolled around, only 16 players were left with Botteon in a commanding chip lead after taking out "MezuuÜuuT" and "NeedBeat". He then took out "Sasuke234" but then lost a huge chunk when he doubled Miegel up in a flip.

Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress fell to Muehloecker, "bet0nce" was busted by Filatov, Mario "t4t0PAGAU" Navarro was taken out by Botteon before "Prof. Hitman", Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov, and Bruno "great dant" Volkmann were all eliminated by Filatov to get the tournament down to the final table.

Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov finished in fourth place for $93,506

Rollercoaster Final Table

Filatov started with the chip lead but lost it when he first doubled up Shakerchi who then doubled up again to leave Muehloecker short. The latter then lost the rest of his stack to Botteon before Miegel busted "boerni21" to take the chip lead back. Shakerchi called Dzivielevski's shove for his last 16 big blinds with ace-king and was ahead against the queen-jack of the Brazilian. He turned top pair but Dzivielevski rivered a straight.

Freitas was next to fall to Dzivielevski before Filatov doubled up with a flopped set to take the chip lead away from Miegel. He couldn't keep hold of those chips though as he lost several hands to redistribute the chips around the table for Botteon to claim the chip lead this time. Miegel then doubled up for the top three stacks to even out.

Botteon doubled through Filatov but it was Frank who would leave the final table first when he lost his last eight blinds to Miegel. A few hands later, Filatov fell when his shove was called by both Dzivielevski and Botteon. Three-handed play lasted around 30 minutes in which Botteon doubled up once through Miegel before dealing the final blow when he cracked Miegel's aces with his deuces when he turned the full house.

Jakob Miegel
Jakob Miegel finished in third place for $115,269

Dzivielevski started the heads-up battle with almost 60% of the chips in play and even though Botteon managed to get the stacks back to almost even, Dzivielevski kept the pressure on his fellow countryman. In the end, Botteon called for his tournament life with the flopped pair of sixes on the eight-nine-six-queen-trey board when he was put all-in by Dzivielevski who had turned two pair.

WCOOP Unstoppable Players
WCOOP Unstoppable Players

Just a couple of short years ago, only one player had accumulated five WCOOP titles.

Since then, the picture has changed quite a lot.

Two excellent MTT pros have now taken the lead, both with insane scores – one player has nine WCOOP titles, and another has eight.

With the WCOOP 2020 upon us, all could change again over the coming weeks, but it’s going to take nothing less than a legendary run if anyone is to join the top of the pack.

So as we look forward to the Series, here are the players who have won the most WCOOP titles so far. You’ll also find out who that five-time winner was.
