After a few days of preliminary play, it's time for the Main Event of PokerStars Festival New Jersey to get underway.
The Main Event of PokerStars' long-awaited return to the live poker scene on U.S. soil is an $1,100 entry freezeout with one-hour levels and a 25,000 starting stack. Blinds begin at 50/100 and progress from there, with 10 levels of play planned on today's Day 1a schedule, ending at blinds of 600/1,200/200. Twenty-minute breaks will be given every two levels.
Some of the players already seen in the venue the first few days whom we expect to see in the tournament include PokerStars Team Pros Jason Mercier, Chris Moneymaker, and Victor Ramdin, as well as Jonathan Little, David Vamplew, and preliminary event winners Je Wook Oh and Michael Gagliano.
Cards are scheduled to fly at 11 a.m. local time here at Resorts Casino Hotel on the Atlantic City boardwalk. Stay tuned here on PokerNews for all of the live updates.

Chris Moneymaker sat in and wasted no time getting in on the action. On a flop of , two opponents checked to him in the cutoff. The former Main Event champ bet 800, and only Anthony Taormina in middle position called. The turn was a
, and Taormina checked. Moneymaker barreled again for 1,500, but this time Taormina responded with his own aggression. He fired in 3,500, and Moneymaker took a couple of minutes to muck his hand.

David Vamplew raised it preflop in middle position and then bet 400 into a couple of opponents on a flop. Sridhar Sangannagari called on his left, and Kevin Crombie came along from the button. Vamplew bet again for 800 on the
turn, and Sangannagari called. Crombie made it 2,100 to go on the button, and Vamplew got out of the way. Sangannagari called though, seeing a
complete the board.
Sangannagari came out firing with 3,200, and Crombie made a small raise to 7,000. Sangannagari opted to fold, and Crombie turned over the as he raked in the pot.
