Welcome to PokerNews' coverage of the inaugural PokerStars Festival!
PokerStars makes its return to the live tournament scene in the USA for the first time in several years and an action-packed week is in store at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
While there are 40 tournaments on the schedule, the PokerStars Festival is about more than just playing poker. There will be StarsFun activites, including Miniature Golf Hole-in-One Progressive, Hoops Fever Progressive and Pinball Progressive to name a few. As for the poker tournaments, the schedule has buy-ins ranging from $100 to $5,000. Here is the full poker tournament schedule of events., and here is the StarsFun schedule.
The Festival kicks off today, and we'll be focusing our tournament coverage on Event 2, the $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em - 6 Handed. The cards are set to be in the air at noon local time and registration is open until the end of Level 4 (about 3:40 p.m.) The structure for this event (and all other tournaments) can be found here.

The cards are in the air and there are five players registered thus far. Tournament staff has agreed to meet the players' request of changing the levels to 20 minutes long, rather the initial 45. Registration still remains open for the first four levels.

They checked to the turn of a board where Needleman bet 400. Little called.

The entry numbers may not be huge for the first few events on the PokerStars Festival New Jersey schedule, but PokerStars says it is planning to measure the success of all this in a bit of a different way.
