Dia 4 Começado

Welcome to Day 4 of PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo €5,300 Main Event

Michael Kolkowicz
Michael Kolkowicz

Three days are in the books and three remain in PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® €5,300 Main Event.

A starting field of 727 runners has been reduced to just 45, so the tournament is well into the money with the current payout being €15,420. However, everyone has their eyes on the €500,800 top prize, and a number of top players remain in contention.

Stefan Schillhabel, Davidi Kitai, Sergio Aido, and French tournament legend Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier are all in the top 10 in chips. However, everyone's looking up at Frenchman Michael Kolkowicz, who has 1,445,000 as blinds and antes head to 5,000/10,000/1,000.

Day 4 of the event will see the players grind their way through five more levels, each lasting 90 minutes. When they wrap things up at Level 23, they'll be playing 12,000/24,000/4,000. There will be 20-minute breaks between each level. Stay tuned here on PokerNews as we bring you all of the live updates throughout the day.

No Hearts to Be Found

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Raffaele Sorrentino opened in middle position and got two callers in the blinds. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and the small blind led for 36,000. Big blind Diego Vilela called, and Sorrentino immediately shoved when it was on him. It was 154,000 total. The small blind quickly folded, but Vilela called after some thought.

Vilela: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Sorrentino: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The turn was a {q-Spades} and the river a {7-Diamonds}, giving Sorrentino double.

At a nearby table, Davidi Kitai opened for 25,000 and Karim Souaid flatted on the button. Big blind Andreas Klatt shoved all in for about 250,000, and Souaid called after Kitai mucked.

Souaid: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Klatt: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The flop brought something for both: {5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Souaid now needed another heart. Two red cards fell, but both were diamonds on the turn and river, giving Klatt the pot.

Souaid Eliminates Muradov

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Shakhabiddin Muradov shoved all in for 160,000 at his table and received a call from Karim Souaid, who looked to have come into the pot for a raise in front of him.

Muradov: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Souaid: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Souaid was already one flip down but this one would go in his favor: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}, giving him aces up.

Small Three-Bet by Ensan

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Hossein Ensan

Sergei Petrushevskii was first to act and opened to 22,000. His neighbor, Hossein Ensan, three-bet to 39,000. This got rid of all the other players but Petrushevskii called.

Petrushevskii carefully tapped the table once the {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop hit. Ensan bet 39,000 and Petrushevskii called.

Both players checked the {J-Spades} on the turn before the {9-Spades} completed the board. Petrushevskii checked for the third time. Ensan grabbed a 5,000-chip from a tower of blues and moved the rest forward: a 95,000 bet.

Petrushevskii thought about it for a bit before he tossed in a chip to call. Ensan showed {A-Spades}{6-Spades} for the flush, Petrushevskii mucked quietly.
